Adding a data point for ship speeds

 

Ordered a mixed set on Sunday, got a shipping confirmation this morning

 

Modus 105x and tour velvet midsized grips so nothing too exotic

Played 9 holes on a wet course with my zx4 mkiis today. I can’t get over how great the turf interaction is. In and out so smoothly. Had no idea what I was missing before playing these. And love the feel when struck well too. Really happy with them.

I played the 785 for a year and the zx7 for a year and the zx7 ii are the softest to me. I tried many other players irons in between those sets but I always end up playing Srixons once golf season comes around. I think I’m gonna stop trying everything else

Can somebody who has a set of the new ZX4 post pictures in the playing position of their longest iron, a mid iron, and a short iron? Can you also post the soles for each? I’m thinking of trying an experiment with the ZX4s

As another option, same family but well worth a try, XXIO X 12. Lengthened by one inch I have 5-PW, with the 5 iron at 23 degrees loft. These are just the best irons I have hit and I did look at the Srixon ZX options before buying these mid last year.

Yeah, when I saw them in the address position I couldn’t tell if they were zx5 or zx4

Just looked at these in person today, ZX4 and 5's.  In person, I can tell a difference between the 4's and 5's putting them down next to each other.  To me, the 4's are an overall slightly larger iron, blade length definitely.  The 5's to me in person look fairly compact all the way around and is about as small of an iron that I would want to be playing.  Don't think I will be going into the 7 range, I was thinking that, but no.  Probably a ZX4 in the 4 iron, and then straight 5's 5-AW.  I need to work on finding a no upcharge shaft that they offer that I am comfortable with.  I'm going to start with the Mizuno shaft optimizer and go from there.  In my opinion, the ZX5's just look to be head and shoulder's above the competition in this class of irons.  I like them better than the Mizuno counterparts at address anyway and I also think they offer more help.  In person, and this was a bother to me for some reason, I confirmed for myself that they moved the tungsten mark to the bottom center (if indeed that is a tungsten marking) in the 3-7 irons instead of the toe.  Weird that the 7's have it still on the toe though?  The 4's I forgot to check for tungsten marking, not sure if they have it with being a hollow body iron.

I went ahead and ordered a set of ZX4 MK II 5-AW today. I currently play i230s and love them, but I saw a whole set of the 4’s today and thought they looked amazing for “GI” irons. I figured it would be worth an experiment to grab a set and if I end up not using them or keeping them in my back up bag then somebody on here will buy them. I had them next to ZX5s and I couldn’t tell a difference. Didn’t hit them, just pulled the trigger based on looks. We shall see how it goes. FWIW I don’t plan on taking the i230s out of the bag, but these ZX4s will be my fun set of irons.

Just another observation as I've gotten a couple more rounds in with these in better weather/conditions. They are really, really good on low strikes. I've hit a few bottom groove that carried right on the number I was playing. But not because it was a low missile. They got up in the air much more than I expected and stayed in the air. Impressed with the forgiveness on off-center strikes so far. They definitely launch noticeably higher than my 745's. I'm guessing the VCOG is lower on these as that seems to be the trend for modern irons.

Did you pay 50% off your pings?  No.  The reality is you were only a customer due to a pricing error.  You're the "customer" no business wants walking in their doors.

Retail golf customers are often some of the worst examples of humanity.   They would never behave that way at a Foot Locker but when they stroll in a golf store, they're entitled to a deal, just ask em!  I once had a guy try to negotiate a price of a bucket of range balls lol

 

You can hear the entitlement in this guys posts.  As if they're lucky if he plays their clubs.   It's been going on a long time, and needs to stop.

 

I like a deal as much as the next guy, but I don't think I'm owed anything and clearly 50% off was a mistake.

Anybody have any inside information on build delays?  
 

Placed an order for 4-P ZX7 with $-Taper 130 through DD on 2/28.  Srixon's site quoted 7 days at that time.  The estimate they gave DD was 3 weeks.  I assume it is shaft related?

@rcolwell7 I placed an order for ZX7 and Z-Forged both MKII from DD several weeks ago with 'custom' shafts, DG 120 X100. DD's automated email confirmation stated something like 2-3 weeks but they were on my doorstep a week later. Unless there's a general backlog on $-Taper 1230 then you'll likely get yours sooner than the stated 3 weeks.

I tried when I ordered, albeit through DD, as was told that Srixon would not take swing weight requests. They have a section at the bottom of the product pages that details what custom build attributes they do accept.
