So is the general consensus that the specs on these things from the factory are inconsistent at best? Really hard to pull the trigger when I’m seeing so many issues with specs/swing weights. I don’t have many builders around me to take clubs to so this is really pushing me away.

I can only speak for my experience, but my entire set came in exactly at D3. Even the ZX5 5 iron came in at D3 even though the stock swingweight on those is D1. But it matched the rest of my ZX7's perfectly.

definitely. i strongly recommend anyone to check their clubs with builders not only from srixon but other manufacturers as well. for my clubs from srixon the SW and the length of the clubs were off

I have the original ZX7's, and now have the mkii ZX7's.  I tried the ZX5's, but didn't like the feel of them.  I haven't had enough time with the mkii yet to be able to say much except they feel great, just like the originals.  I bought a ZX4 6 iron to test.  The loft on the ZX4 6 iron is only 0.5 degrees different than the ZX7 5 iron but shorter shaft, so I was curious to see if it is more forgiving.  The ZX4 feels better than I was expecting.  I am trying to figure out if it would need to be bent alittle stronger to match the distance of my ZX7 5 iron, or do I bend it 3 degrees weaker to replace my ZX7 6 iron.  The problem with that, is that it would launch really high, and there would be more bounce exposed, which may not be good on my home course as the fairways are pretty tight.

anyone know how long after in production it takes for srixon to ship custom clubs? thx

My Zx4s arrive tomorrow (grip change only), which will be the 17 days since I placed the order.  My combo set arrived in about the exact same timeframe, and that had a grip change and loft adjustments.

What type of wait times are people seeing on custom orders right now? I'm going on three weeks and the shop I ordered from believes the delay is related to the AW on the ZX5 but were going to reach out to confirm.

I ordered a set 5-A 2 weeks ago.  I received every club except the A wedge, and they said that was on back order till the middle of May.  I received the other 6 clubs, and the 4 utility iron in 7 days.  I bought a 50 degree RTX6 , and just figured I'd trade it back in when my A wedge gets here.

My fitter spec checked mine and they were dead on when they arrived.

Is anyone playing the Z Forged Mk II? I had an old set of 965's that I regret selling and have an opportunity that could make it worthwhile to sell my T100s for the Z Forged.

Even better if anyone has hit both to do a direct comparison. I took a few swings today and seemed to be hitting the Srixons higher with a better descent, but I really need to do a true test first.

This has been my experience. Specs requiring tweaking after purchase for me:

Lie, loft, swingweight.

I should qualify that by saying Second Swing’s repair area said that. I haven’t had the shop who fit my driver look at them yet.

Played two seasons with the original ZX7, loved them.  THis year ordered a combo set Zx4 4/5 , Zx5 6-PW Mkii.  Zx5 are great, dont love the feel.  Think the Zx4 feel better.  Thinking I might order the rest of the set in the Zx4.

Anyone have thoughts on this?  Besides a little better feel, am I gaining anything with Zx4?  I also need to watch the low spin.  Will definitely need to weaken lofts as I did on the set I ordered.

It’s interesting. I have a zx4/5 combo set. First round I really liked the 4’s and thought about getting an entire Zx4 set. The more time I spent on the range and course confirmed the split set is right for me. Really enjoy how easy the long irons are to hit, launch and stop on greens for the Zx4s. But the Zx5’s feel much better to me. They look better to my eye and I can flight them much easier than the 4s. Agains, just my two cents. The problem I have with the 4s is that they go to the moon. Would not want to be hitting short irons into the wind with that set or be trying to shape/flight shots.

I think I may be the only crazy person who has a full set of zx4 mkiis and has contemplated replacing the long irons only with zx5s. I love the 9-AW, the 8 works. 7 and 6, spin only works with the right ball, 5 is just long and sometimes I wonder if too long. I actually think I might be slightly happier with zx5 5-7, zx4 8-AW. I’ve never heard anyone else even contemplate such a thing. In any event, plenty happy with full zx4 set, but if I were to combo, i’d be inclined to do it backward, which I’m sure those more knowledgeable than me would tell me is dumb.

I'm a believer in doing what makes sense for your game/bag.  The one downside would be it would be a very hard set to sell down the road. But if you kept the ZX4 mid/long irons, you'd be fine.

Thanks for not calling me crazy. I think I will definitely give it some time and see how I feel after getting some more golf in with them. My recent ball change has me feeling better about the 6-7, but I haven’t settled in with confidence it will stick yet. It’s really the 5 I need to sort out whether it is too long for gapping purposes and getting too close to hybrid and too far from 6. Could also tinker with loft a smidge before resorting to swapping it out.

Gotcha...I meant keep them in your possession to sell as a set.  But by all means, create a Frankenstein set to play if needed.

The 5-iron is such a finnicky spot in the bag. I just placed an order for a ZX4 5-iron because I don't trust my ZX5 5-iron nearly as much as my 6-iron or 4H.

I'm contemplating doing something just as off the wall. I have the ZX5 in 5 iron and ZX7 in 6-PW and I'm thinking of replacing my 9 and PW with the ZX5. I'm a bit of a flipper and the problem gets exaggerated with higher loft. So I'm left with a big gap between my 8 and 9 iron. I could just adjust the loft on my 9 and PW, but I think the ZX5 head gives me even a little more juice. I'd probably take out my 3 hybrid and re-arrange my wedges due to the larger resulting gap between PW and GW. I've always been curious why mixed sets have to follow a certain set of rules.

Nice to see I’m not the only one who thinks an unconventional combo set might be optimal for me.

My history:

JPX 900 Tour->P7MCs -> ZX7 MKI -> 2021 T100 -> ZX7 MKII

I want to document the comparison between the 2021 T100 and the ZX7 MKII because the opinions on here almost prevented me from getting the MKIIs even after I played the OG ZX7s for a year. I agree that they should bevel the top line (ZX7 is 0.5mm thicker in the 4I compared to the T100), but all around they are very similar in size or to the T100.  Titleist does a wonderful job of creating an optical illusion that the club is thinner than it actually is.

I can tell you that I have a set of ZX7 MkII's waiting for me as soon as I can sell my 2021 T100s set. Same shaft but better height, spin, and landing angle - testing on Trackman both indoors and outdoors on two different days. The V-sole works better for me as well - it just goes through the grass so much nicer...
