Not going to post a list, but I have to suggest some of you'll should check out Floor Jansen, who sings for Nightwish (Finnish symphonic metal band).

 

This is usually counted as one of her finest.  It's a long one, but her finale (starting around 8min mark?) is really something.  Woman has one helluva set of pipes...

With regard to your Sufjan sentence, Megan Smith is part of Sufjans team and was for Seven Swans. It is likely her. (I am also a huge Sufjan fan, must be a European thing.


Also, great shout for V Maggio. Wish Veronica and Hakan Hellstrom did more together.

Like i mentioned i know the type of music is not necessarily popular , especially with Golf's demographic. 

 

But she has a lot of accolades, multiple top songs , has done collaborations with people like Bad Bunny and Maroon 5 that both ended up being among the best songs of the year

 

Her solo rap stuff, songs like Bodak Yellow etc were very very good.  

 

I think for a woman to have done as well in rap (and i mean real rap for the most part, Bodak Yellow or her new song Hot Sh*t are legit rap songs) which historically was so male dominated is quite an achievement

I agree that she is accomplished in her genre. However, putting her in the same conversation as Aretha Franklin is where I get lost.
