Callaway Paradym driver - 2022 QBE Shootout

Recommended Posts

Had of of those great driving but nothing else worked today rounds, put the heavy weight back to the rear postion and +1 N adapter and just hit some really nice drives.

Downwind a couple were though the fairway and even into the wind the distance was at least pretty darn good for me. The guys we were paired with wanted me to move back to the tips ha ha, it was a short Course but no I was where I need to be and still did not score well due to spotty iron play and chunking wedges all over the place. Golf is hard for us mortals.

Mav Mcnealy is back in the epic speed retail…the paradym is struggling big time in strokes gained off the tee. Not many guys up there using new callaway drivers. I personally use the paradym triple diamond and also am struggling a bit. Went back to epic max ls and it’s just so much easier and more comfortable

Huh? All the “guys up there” are using Paradym driver and most also have at least one of the fairway woods.

Like I said, I own the triple diamond and it’s a decent driver with the heavier weight back but I do think previous models are more playable on course

I figured when folks really started playing this club the launch monitor hype would wear off quickly. Best marketed club I've ever seen tho.

The Stealth would like to have a word. McNealy prob isn't the best example based on how particular he is, even for a tour pro.

Ya Mav is the single worst example of an equipment release success. I mean look at this build ticket.

1 3/8" tipping.... a 13/16" cut length spec...'shave heel' of a driver? lol

I also like one layer of blue masking tape and then one of double. Wonder if he can actually feel the difference.

Strokes gained driving rankings. Hard to ignore rahm not being up there when he’s consistently top 3 in previous years also

Didn’t stop Sam Burns this weekend!

Also the Epic Max LS isn’t even a close comparison to the Paradym TD…

The use of the word "appease" is notable and almost certainly not accidental.

I was told no custom line for this year.

Isn't there a version coming out for the first major, that can't be named in marketing, in Augusta Georgia, near the Hooters where JD will sign anything, with a bunch of pretty flowers and traditions like no other?

Could be doing the Cobra thing when they made different color schemes for the Majors.

Apparently the Rogue ST in the configuration he wanted looked a certain way to him so they ground a part of the driver off without making a hole so have it sit on the ground differently.

They get what they want for sure, but I don’t think many are as “picky” as Maverick. That build sheet posted above is ridiculous.

This might be the winner for the “Most annoying (bordering on ridiculous) build sheet ever”

I’m particular with my clubs and can usually notice when something is off from a feel and looks perspective. But Mav must have like clinical levels of OCD…

The Epic Max LS is very forgiving as it should be.  Should be easier to hit.   If the ball striking is not there, the TD can be harsh.  I thought it curious this year that so many amateurs jumped into the TD head, as witnessed by this thread.   The Rogue Max LS and Epic Max LS are still both excellent choices for the masses who want/need less spin + forgiveness.

Noted* Mav hasn't been playing very well and it's surely not the driver to blame.  Maybe he needs more time to tinker or that he's very particular.  Who knows.

McNealy likes his driver to sit quite open, and retail Epic Speed can easily be made to do that because of the sole design. It also has a much more rounded shape than most anything else recent from Callaway. To my eye, it looks almost spherical.
