Stripping TaylorMade white finish

I have an old Adams hybrid (from after they were bought by TM) and the crown has the matte white finish on it, but it is very old and looks horrible. Does anyone have any experience stripping the finish off and refinishing it? I am interested in stripping the finish off and keeping it raw, or painting it if it's easy enough, but I want to start off taking the white off first. Thanks!

I can’t picture the exact model you’re referring too but I stripped all the white/yellow paint off of a Taylormade RBZ Stage 2 3 wood and left it the matte gray, so much better. Just put on a bunch of Citristrip all over for a few hours and wiped away with a green scotchbrite pad.

I remember those clubs and it should be the same exact finish type so that is very helpful. Did you cover up the rest of the club? How long did you leave it submerged?

Citristrip is quite thick, I just applied everywhere there was paint, even the sole of the club, there are parts on the sole that is simply finished metal that the stripper does not affect at all so I didn’t have to tape off or cover anything. I just left it on over night. About 3-4hours in I could see the paint breaking apart already.

For anyone coming back later down the line, Citristrip worked like a charm- I left it overnight and it wiped off with a towel, no scrubbing/scraping really needed. Any spot left over I just put more on and left it another night.

Yeah I was able to wipe away the paint with a towel, I kept the Citristrip on overnight to avoid abrasive rubbing scratching the top
