New Level now has a "Custom Shop" instead of being able to select individual irons which is interesting as well. A lot of "strategic" changes so far in 2023.

So, if I am tracking this right, Gi22 single irons were $110 in December, then $135 two days ago and now the custom shop it is $150 for a single iron (same shaft as in the prices quoted previously)? At this rate the clubs will be $1000 in a few months!

The 902 irons are $51 cheaper than they were a few days ago for a 6 club set so I guess that’s something.

The owner seems quite arrogant to be honest, I don’t think they will.

I don't see it as arrogance I see it as a guy that is well respected in the golf industry that knows what he's talking about and puts his money where his mouth is. He is

heavily involved with every aspect of his business from design, sourcing manufacturing , marketing and sales.  I ordered a few sets and a set of heads from them and I called

one afternoon and Eric answered the phone and spoke with me for 10 minutes or so to help me make a decision.  He employees Americans in Arizona and recently has added

a few Tour Pros to join Steven Alker ( Current Swab Cup Champion ) .  The price increase sucks but it's understandable and like others have said  they have their fans but I'm

not interested at this price point however when they have a sale they are a fantastic deal.  ( 500-700 ) 5-PW.

Have some of their wedges and like them a lot. That lower price got me to check them out without trying them on the monitor; the new price point simply means they'll have to produce before I'd buy, but maybe they have plans to make demos more readily available. If not, they might believe they can entice enough people to pay for demo heads and the results will bring follow-on sales.

Reality is that margins are better on higher-priced goods, often because people equate price with quality, and because those who buy at higher price points often don't sweat even a few hundred dollars of difference. The 80/20 rule often skews harder towards 90/10 or more when it comes to more expensive merchandise and they might have just gleaned all they could from the moderate pricing they were using.

Obviously not in house so I'm guessing here, but I doubt they'd shift their pricing if they didn't have data telling them it makes sense. Could be wrong, though, and they wouldn't be the first company to erode their core to chase after a segment they don't have traction in and might not be able to lock down.

We all know if they lasso the right club heaux they'll be living it up at any price point.

Is the True purchase of NL correct? Agree with a lot of posts here that something is different, not just prices.

I really like both companies so maybe something cool will come out if this. They both make awesome products.

I can't confirm but have a feeling the owner is either no longer the owner or is taking a tremendous step back in his level of involvement on day to day operations and customer support. I used to be able to get ahold of him via IG messaging but I recently sent them a message and they took a while to get back and the person said it's no longer Eric who is responding to messages. Their social media posts have taken a completely different turn and they have a new colored logo as well. Would be a bummer if so as Eric's support and willingness to help (along with the great pricing) is what turned me on to New Level in the first place. If both of those are gone, I'm out for the foreseeable future.

It'll be interesting to see what will happen with the company. seems to be a lot of changes away from the foundation that made them successful.

Have heard they got bought out by a sports management / Sports agent group that is owned/run by Ryan Moore's brother who started Truelinks footwear. If i had to venture a guess, Ryan is now part owner  & maybe some of the other new players may get a % of company to promote the brand also.

Decent move on new ownership's end to get tour players involved but not sure we the consumers will care that much or enough to pay their new higher prices when I look at a new set of titleist's and being a very minimal difference.

I think there is truth to to rumor that New Level has been bought out. If you look at the new web site the owner of the company is now New Level Holding, LLC not WinWin. New Level Holding is registered to Jason Moore, Ryan Moore’s brother. It will be interesting to see what the future will bring for New Level.

I have purchased 2 sets of irons and a few wedges from NL, I ultimately pulled the trigger because they were cheap.  I could be wrong, and it may have already been stated in this thread, but I think he started this brand with a premium price and when Covid hit he responded with DTC and lower price points/sales.  The later model seemed to work well as far as buzz and sales.  I don't think they can compete at these prices. I hope they can.

Perhaps a contrarian view….

It’s how they see the value they provide.  I think they understand their ‘worth’.

Isn't it mostly about look, feel and performance… check check check…. because that’s what amounts to confidence?

What’s that worth?

For me, these perform really well.  Really really well.  They rate high on YouTube and in the testing of “wanted most”…Frankly, I’d have paid more for mine, resell value be damned.  The loss is mostly marginal if you’re all in and if you change every few years not every few months….

New Level have what I want.

They are forgiving enough for the decent enough player, they aren’t juiced but they do have competitive distance, they feel awesome and they look great, they blend well and have consistent and very little offset, and they build is on spec.

How valuable is that?

They get it…. Absolutely leading with quality.

The rest is just big business marketing overhead and margin….

Some of these things were true about Scratch about 10 years ago, and Ryan Moore I believe was part owner of that or at least played them on tour for a bit as well. They priced themselves out of business…

^ that may be true, but I’m not picking and choosing and buying clubs based on the business viability.

I think it comes down to value, and whether or not resell or trade value is important to the individuals definition of value.  I personally value the items I mentioned more than resell or trade.
