Ping S159 wedge, no cavity, only one wedge next year with more bounce options. Saw it a couple of days ago, looks like the Pro wedge they have had. To me, looks good.

Any word on the S259? I seen both the S159 and S259 trademarked my PING.

What is the tech like?

Did it have as much offset and as round a leading edge as Glide Pro?

I hope it is in the style of a Vokey in terms of size & offset as if they go to more of a glide pro size & offset it will absolutely tank….

If what everyone says about the new wedges is true, this is a huge disappointment. Glides tech is great, they just aren't popular because of their shape and rounded leading edge.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. I have always loved ping. I think pings across the board are the most well thought out, well engineered clubs. I trust ping more than any other manufacturer, and they have great customer service too. There isn't all the marketing bs that comes with other companies. They don't follow the trends, like throwing more carbon at something for market purposes. I would love to have a whole bag of pings. But the mindset of pure engineering is also their achilles heel. Looks, sound, and feel and also extremely important. And every set I get excited about, has the same shortcomings as most every other ping. Their pros aren't stuck in random old models for no reason. I really hope they someday come to this realization, and break free of their GI reputation and have more offerings that better players want to play. A true ping t100 competitor, WITHOUT classic ping offset for example. All their wedge tech in a great shape, driving irons that aren't ugly as sin....

Anyways, I'm done with my rant sorry.

It would be nice if the new ones were out now -- any more news on release date? I just tried to custom order a Glide 4.0 50, 54 and 60 and Ping was out of the 50 when my club tried to place the custom order.  They had the 54 and 60 though.  My clubs were stolen, so I'm moving now on replacing things...

Spring 2024 is my guess based on the Glide 4.0 release date.

Please, I hope they don't mess up their wedges by getting away from what the Glide has been. I don't care that low caps and wannabe players are wanting a small, no offset, straight leading edge knife wedge. The majority of golfers don't NEED that.

I agree with the consensus. I hope they don’t go to the glide pro shaping. Give me an esthetically updated 2.0 with stealth and raw options and you can have my money now.

I had the stealth 2.0s and those are the best wedges I’ve had. I had a wrx grind on my lob wedge that was unreal. I’m still annoyed at myself for getting rid of them.  Guess that’s the life of a ho.

Basically a Stealth 2.0 with the upgraded ctp insert and hydropearl tech of the 4.0 and more of the grinds that are offered through the wrx dept as standard options would literally be about as close to perfection. The half moon, and back/heel combo grind are really good. Then a raw option would just be the cherry on top…

Perfection! I wish they would just re-release the Glide 2.0 as a limited run. The TS Grind on the 2.0 was perfect and it shows with so many pros using a 2.0 TS in their lob wedge.

Have you ever tried their back/heel combo grind? It’s even better than the ts grind.

I with Ping maintained two lines of wedges.

A larger more traditional Eye style wedge (ex. High-toe, maybe add full face) and the Vokey-like competitor (Glide 2.0 like).

Forcing the Eye-style into a smaller, more Vokey-like lineup makes the Eye-style pointless.  Tour players pay it no mind and players who are in the market for a new Eye-style wedge set are used to bigger and more offset wedges anyway.

I have not tried that WRX grind but wouldn't it be similar to the S Grind with heel and trailing edge relief?

I just love the 2.0 TS. Thin forward sole with 20* of measured bounce and then a bunch of trailing edge/toe/heel relief.

Probably impossible due to the nature of the tech, but if hydropearl was achievable on a raw finish, or even a raw-like finish such as oil can...

They're just going to have one wedge line in 2024. Heard from a few people that spoke with reps and it's just the S159 line being released in 2024

If they can continue the Eye line-up as its own wedge within the S159 line without trying to make it conform to the size and looks of the others, I'd be happy.

They will probably still have the E Grind. Apparently the reps said that there will be more grind/bounce and loft options with the new line.
