How about Adam Scott, Willy Z, and Gary Woodland at Genesis?  The definition of Wild Cards who got into an elevated event because they asked Tiger, or Tiger invited them.  Not because they met any sort of requirement.  They weren't qualified for the event.

 

Wild Cards are great.  Loved them during the days of MotoGP and WSBK when they came to Laguna Seca.  The factory big dog teams would put an up and coming Rodger Hayden on a factory Kawi, giving him a spotlight.

Hadn't thought of the first tee jitters with the shotgun start. Starting on the first tee has to make a difference in that regard.
