I’m still in them. Picked up a set of zx5/zx7 mkII combos and after a few rounds I keep side eyeing the i210s.

playing 9 this morning and i210 are getting the nod.

I've gone through 10 sets and circled back !!!

I won't get that buttery forged feel but everything else.....

still using I210 - skipped the i230  -   Hit the I240 in the demo bay  --   looked closed... looked too small... felt pretty good... investing in new grips for i210 and gonna keep on trucking!

Wishing I never gave up on my 1st set.....I don't think I truly understand the CONSISTENCY offered by i210 whilst being so forgiving....

I think I’m on about set 4 or 5 lol!

and you hit the nail on the head- they won’t beat the feel of a pured zx7 but they check absolutely every other box for me and always have.

i240 could have been really promising but that carbon badge is a no go for me. The i210 still look so good in the bag.

If I could find a like new condition set with Modus 120s (mine have dg120 X100 now) I would be a happy man. For now.

Biggest mistake I've made is getting rid of the i210s I got a solid used set in my specs thought the I 230 would be better cause it's new and it never even came close to performing as well for me. They would hold greens better than anything Ive hit.

I have never hit a Ping iron, other than my playing partners only Ping club he ever had, which was a Ping Eye 2 sand wedge back in 1994. Recently I hit the Ping i230 just to see how different a high VCOG iron performed compared to something lower (I was hitting a MP-20 blade along side the Ping and contemplating going back to the Mizuno Blades) but after hitting the i230, all I could say is wow. I thought I wouldn’t get along with a higher VCOG iron since my misses are always thin, never toe or heel, but they were great, and out performed the MP-20

Since then I’ve hit a couple of used Ping 7 irons (i200 & i210)to compare with the i230. Not really apples to apples though. The i200 had DG s300’s and the i210 had PX 5.5 while the i230 had PX iO 5.5’s

The i230 had the shaft that fit me best, so it felt the best, followed by the i200, but I think that had more to do with the shaft (I got along surprisingly well with the DG s300, which I thought would be way too heavy, but with just a few swings in a bay I managed well, it  isn’t like hitting buckets of balls) The PX 5.5 felt more firm to me than the DG s300, so I found myself swinging harder than I should be.  I prefer a softer flex

I liked all 3 clubs, and felt they were all around the same shape, size and offset (especially the i200 & i210, if it wasn’t for looking down at a different shaft, I may have confused the two)

So I bought a Minty set of i200’s that  just came in, which I look forward to playing this weekend

I200s were nice, but they have the club number on the face.  Can't stand it

I don’t even notice it, but visually I'm not used to the offset , or shape, compared to my past irons,  although I don’t find it off putting

I like the white line at the bottom and the finish.

I love the white line.  I used a white paint marker on set of old mizunos I play to have the line.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've always played something like a Ping G iron. I kept equipment for a very long time, so many clubs have passed me by.

I have found I like to chip with a PW a fair percentage of the time but often game improvement clubs can be a bit hot off of the face. I haven't got on particularly well with a specialist wedge in this position either.

I found an old Ping i5 PW up for sale really cheaply recently and loved the feel and way it looked behind the ball. I need to adapt, but I've hit more controlled chips in its first two rounds than I ever have with anything else.

It made me curious as to how I could get on with an i series club throughout my irons, so I've been really fortunate and found a 5-PW set of i210's in my shaft in really good condition.  I've only played once. They feel absolutely amazing!  The distance drop-off is no where near as bad as I thought and I'm really excited to get to know them better.

I can see why they are so well thought of.
