... As the kids would say "been a minute" but I am heading to the golf course. It's 5pm on the east coast and I tee off at 6:20pm. `108* and 18* humidity should be pretty pleasant riding in a cart from shade to shade. Forecast actually looks similar for the next 10 days so I'm hoping to get in several rounds.

Champion Hills was only 9 holes but I did get in 18 the day before. My round at BFCC on Tuesday will be remembered for two things. It was my longest round of the year and again it was a round that was played with the heat index at 100*. I arrived at 12:30 for a 1:15 tee time and I got in my car to leave at 7:45. 

Over an hour rain delay and due to the fact that I was playing with two elderly gentlemen that didn't hit it far or hit it straight very often we let two groups play through.

Fairway and green on 1 but 3 putted. Three straight pars next and that string included pars on 2 and 4 which are the 3 and 1 handicap holes. That I never do. +1 thru four holes. I was feeling confident with my start. The confidence was short lived. Disaster came next with back to back doubles. I missed the green on both holes on the short side and faced very delicate pitches. I gagged and chunked it with my 60 on both holes. 3 decent pars to finish the front +5. On the back it was more of a mixed bag. Another double came my way and the two decent birdie looks I had didn't fall. 6 over on the back for an 11 over 81 for the round. 

 

It was nice to play 18 with one of the members who I first became friends with when I started at the place 6 years ago. Mr. R said twice during the round that I had a fantastic smooth swing especially with driver. My driver has been solid for many rounds in a row so I give my game ball to my Paradym. 

 

With daily storm's a regular thing for over two weeks now combined with sunny warm temps the turf was in absolute primo condition.   ⚡

Just thought I would say hello. I haven’t been on the site very much over the last while. It has been a busy year of golf that started late (March 14) but ramped up the last couple months. Today was my 87th round of the year, 40 hickory.

 

I hope everyone is having a good summer. Ours has been hot and sticky the last month. Have a great day.

I was wondering what happened to the Lounge's Canadian brother?  Great to hear from you well dressed Ontario golfer and glad things are good with you.

... Didn't see this til I came home so sorry, no pictures. As requested I made 4 birdies and 2 bogies so not bad after skipping 8 days. Topped a drive on #3 causing a big but dialed in after that. It was  🥵  today, usually 109* ain't too bad but maybe AC for 8 days chilled me a little because I felt a little flushed by the end of the round. AC in the car brought me back most of the way and a shower at home so back to normal. Got paired up with two good dudes so all in all a good day and nice to be back out there!

eBay is what I would use.

 

A set of TM burner Irons 

Ping G something driver

10 year old Cleveland sand wedge

Any old Adams FW and hybrid 

Oddesey putter mallet style 

 

It will be a good bit cheaper than 2nd swing.

... How fortuitous! When I lived in a rainy climate, I always thought rain from 11pm-6am was ideal. Of course now that I live in a desert, I'll take any rain at any time.

How many of you that belong to a golf club have used the App Golf Genius for a tournament before? I guess BFCC was late to the party. Well we rolled it out this weekend for the first time. I think it is great that I can look at my phone and see live scoring in the tournament.

The "club" I'm part of uses Golf Genius for all their tournaments.  I like the live scoring as well, though we're almost always in one of the first groups out, so I don't typically look at the leaderboards until we've finished 18.  I'm also not usually the person entering the scores, so I don't have the app open most of the time.  I usually have the GHIN GPS app open.
