We were at a restaurant and it was slow because we were there between the lunch and dinner hours so the parking lot was empty, but still that's no excuse for my 80 year old friend Clayton to park like that.

At least Clayton parked to the side where no one else can park anyway.

There's a pretty good chance it would be. 😀

He would talk a while about all the people in the Lounge that he put together. That's funny stuff right there.  "Well, we got a guy... and there's another guy..."  And so on.

Please golf gods, don't give us an Open where everyone falls to the pressure except Scottie.  Last thing we want is Scottie going into Sunday with a 5 shot lead.

It's been said many, many times before; an Open without a bit of gnarly weather is not an Open.  It's pretty rare to get 4 calm days in a row at Portrush, but here we are... And it's boring!  There's been little wind and 5 minutes of real rain...boo!

P.S. Lowry penalty was completely stupid

P.S.S.  If you are going to play desert golf, you need to one "beat up" iron in the bag or borrow your friend's club 😉

Question: Can Kate Upton throw a pitch? Because her husband sure can't.

Where is the signage on the back that says "JUST MARRIED!"?  And where are the cans on a string tied to the bumper? This is back when they actually HAD chrome bumpers.

They will decorate the mustang later this afternoon.

I'm old enough to remember chrome bumpers and I'm also old enough to remember the 5 mph energy absorbing bumpers that were required by the NHTSA starting in 1973.

... OK, back to the unfortunate Shane penalty. After seeing the camera view this morning his ball was sitting on a twig and his practice swing hit the twig and caused the ball to move. Just one of those crazy 1 in a million things that happen and with the wind and rain it's easy to see how it happened and he didn't see it. I don't see how the officials had any choice other than the penalty. Which brings me to a different perspective of how many others would have had that happen with no penalty because a camera wasn't filming them. Especially when no advantage was gained I think it has always been a tricky thing and unfair to those being filmed.

At least you can't phone in a penalty from the comfort of your couch in front of your TV anymore.

Easy fix, if you can't definitively see the penalty in real time playback (and no zooming in) then it didn't happen.  It's the 240 fps slow motion playback that's unfair.

And what the tech has also ruined in these situations is a player will not take charge.  They defer to officials for the final decision because they don't want to get roasted as a cheater on social media.

Been quietly looking for a Cayman, man they are thin on the ground preowned. Maybe better to look in winter, not sure, or if there just aren’t that many out there. Or maybe they are costlier than I think ha ha. I need a PDK….I can drive a manual but it’s uncomfortable juggling it with my L arm permanently bent.

Strongly recommended! Said it plenty of times; the Cayman is a better performance ride than a 911.

Fun fact - all Porsches have the ignition to the left of the steering wheel. Since I've not owned anything else since like 2009 or so, it always throws me off when I drive anything else.

The only camera on the course doing a close up of a player's ball should be that of Patrick Reed. It's almost as if the TV coverage was looking for an infraction.  Sure, show the ball so we can see the gnarliness of its lie in the rough, but then pull back.

If anything, it looks like Lowry ended up with a worse lie, lower in the rough. And as an aside, golfers might want to start thinking about standing much farther away from the ball for a practice swing in the rough.  It seems that kind of rough is intertwined for a foot or so.

... Just read this and they make a good point about common sense "This is where, in my view, golf’s rules seem to stray from the boundaries of common sense. Because Lowry was deemed to have moved his ball but didn’t replace it, he was penalized two strokes. But why?! If Lowry didn’t know the ball moved, he couldn’t have known to replace it."

... Even though I usually fast forward through many commercials, I always stop and watch anything that looks interesting. Obviously there is an art to producing an entertain spot that also gets the message across, although I am not sure that is always possible. There are many I enjoy including Becoming Your Parents and Doug/Emu but @aenemated you have to love the Work Space Corporate Types as Rock Star commercials. Reminds me a little of Alice Cooper that had that insane Rock Star image but interviewing him unseen an a radio booth back in the early 80's he was wearing khaki pants and a nice polo shirt.

Haha the irony isn't lost on me. I generally keep work separate from, ya know, my actual life but back when TCK played our last show; I was working at one of the "big three" Hollywood ad agencies and invited my colleagues to it. It was at the fabulous El Cid in Hollywood and was literally a capacity crowd; perhaps due to Jello Biafra promoting it and performing a few DK tunes with us. The following Monday, there was a lot of "Dude, knew you were in a band but ... for real?"

... You Da Man!!! I interviewed some back in the day that were a little lost in their "stardom" and thought they had perfumed defecation. Some recognized how much they needed radio back then and you could tell they were just kissing our butts. Then there were a few just really genuine people and Alice was one of them. Same with Willy and Chaka Khan. On the other end of the spectrum was Lee Greenwood and Glen Campbell. The one that always stuck with me though was Chris Cross that felt like he was the luckiest guy in the world, living the dream and shocked he was being interviewed. Really nice guy. As you know, there were a few whose names I won't repeat but were so F'ed up they could barely get through the interview. Twice they didn't make it to the control room.

... Gotta say I was a little shocked at how down to earth and what a good guy he was. I was a little jaded by some of the super stars so he was a very pleasant surprise. Same for actors, some real jerks but some genuinely good people too. I really wish I could have met Keanu Reeves as he seems like an extraordinary human being.

If I can find a nice one I may do it. I’d like to spend $50k. Really should wait until the winter as a number of things will be more clear on several topics at that point. Plus….a Cayman is a totally great year round daily even in our climate with a set of snows, and I think I can redneck engineer my clubs to fit. That’s what I have to be sure of.

Couple of years ago in Nashville I'm heading up to my hotel room after a night at the Twelve Thirty Club.  I get in the lift, doors close, but just as they almost close I can see someone trying to get the up button last second.  Being the polite guy I am, I hit the open door button and who's standing right there, Alice.  I did hear he had a show that night so all I could say was "how was the show?". He was like great, have to hit the sack, early tee time!  Such the anti-rock star, it was cool.

Got a wrestler working on his weight in the house….means we all eat healthy. 🙂 Got a grilled red snapper with citrus and herb pesto, some grilled pineapple and peaches, some roasted broccoli, and some potstickers in limited quantity. Yum.

He’s going 108# in Atlantic City this week. 💪🏼 Club has 3 silver medals this season. Let’s go get that first place hardware!

Sounds tasty.

Is dad having a few fingers of whiskey at sunset on a day he played 18?

Thanks for the recap MS and for the pics from your course. You know I always admire the beauty of your clubs turf.

Golf saved Alice Cooper from a downward spiral with drug abuse.

I have always admired my Detroit brother.

Young me loved "billion dollar babies" and "school's out".

He picked Phoenix to call home many years ago. Smart move for a golf addict.
