For those who don’t watch to watch.  Rick Shiels gave someone five minutes and a $1,000 budget (although he was being liberal with this as the total came out to over $1,400) in a PGA SuperStore.  Lmao at the guy grabbing tees.  Also all the beginning golfers rushing straight for the Scotty blades and ProVI’s is a microcosm for why alot of golfers don’t improve. They’re playing stuff they have no business playing haha.  Although I think one guy did have a dozen Titleist Velocities.

I’ll just stay up front and grab electronics of some sort. Range finder, GPS watch, maybe something like a Garmin G80.

Was it Supermarket Sweep style where the items had to be at the register in the 5 mins, or 5 mins and wherever you are at that point you’re done? 

 

Gloves and balls for sure. Maybe some FJ ProSL’s because I know exactly how they fit. Then maybe some apparel if I had the time.
 

Clubs are ok if you’re able to play stuff off the rack, but i’m a lefty and don’t play standard loft/lie so i’d probably pass there. Have rangefinder and don’t use any electronics beyond that so i’d skip that as well. But I guess it all depends on if you’re planning on using it or getting the highest resale value after you part ways with Rick! 😂😂

I'm not sure how PGASS are laid out but in Canada GolfTown the wedges are usually by the entrance so assuming they have a completely full stock of items I'm grabbing 5 wedges as backup and maybe try and sneak in a range finder if I can do the shopping run in under 2min.

Though, assuming I'm not grabbing for later resale (in which case, how many Scottys?)  probably going G430 LST at 9, G430 FW at 18, UDI505 at 17, or G430 2H, and calling it a day.  I have shafts already to put in them.  No UDI, then some hideously expensive rangefinder.

 

Doubt they've 12XW shoes, so no point in looking.  Kind of sad, that equipment prices have gotten to the point that 30-45 seconds looking, and you've already hit $1,000/1,500...

I’m so old and slow any more it would take me the five minutes to get back to the clubs.  And I don’t play enough to need that many balls…..hence the electronics. I can stand in one place,  20’ into the store and do all my shopping!

Golf balls are easiest to resell, hold their value for several years, and can be used as gifts.

 

Unless I knew *exactly* what I wanted in terms of a club, electronic, bag, push cart, etc....I wouldn't want to put myself into a 5 minute impulse decision only to find out after it really wasn't what I wanted.

Couple dozen balls, 4 gloves, some shirts and shorts. Although my golf bag is getting torn up so I may borrow some from those for a new one.
