Golfing from a boat - a random musing....

Long time angler and returning hacker (COVID bug golfer, 30 year gap) here. I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience multitasking two hobbies on the same day - say fishing and golf?

 

Where I live, there are multiple courses where the holes are by the beach/water...anywhere between 150 - 200 yds. while anchored offshore so GIR is a good probability.

 

Literally hitting off the deck of my boat is an enticing prospect that I'm thinking of adding to my bucket list.

 

I'm aware that this may be frowned upon by some, hopefully not all...but assuming that this will be attempted only during optimal conditions - a course where no one is playing within a hole or 2 away - probably at twilight, using biodegradable balls, line of sight is clear of any potential dangers (beachgoers, houses, cabanas, etc.) w/in 200 yard radius, calm sea conditions, I think that this may be a Mission Possible.

 

The closest I've been to multitasking golf and fishing on the same day was fishing in the morning on Long Island Sound and crossing over to Westchester and hit a few buckets at the driving range in the afternoon.

 

I've searched the forum but haven't had any relevant hits so I hope someone can provide any comments, insights or direct experience that may be helpful to determine if this is really doable.

Thanks, caligolfer2103! I also did a Google search and haven't had any real hits so I'm really interested if someone has already attempted this.

Thanks, Kmagnuss. This is a cool video! In addition to balance issues due to the waves, he has to contend with the seat cushion as well as the possibility of hitting the gunwales and stainless steel railings so this will definitely bump up the difficulty level. I think that anyone pulling off this shot and landing it on the green would be an awesome achievement!

Nice! 😄, great idea, TiScape. I'll drop by my local convenience store today to pickup my winning lotto ticket for $1 billion so that I can order mine... Better yet... I'll just buy the boat and then buy Augusta National and have it installed on the boat 🤪
