Putter necks

Quick question for y'all. I've played a long neck (plumbers neck) blade for a long time. I have loved it, and really don't have a reason to change, but every time I wander into GG I just can't seem to miss with a queen b #6. This is the wide blade shape with the face balanced (I think) shaft bend (I have no idea if there's a name for this I know very little about putter necks). Anyways, on to my question. Does it make sense that I get on with these two? And are there any other necks I should keep an eye out for that would be similar to these for future gamers?

Both are face balanced or very close to it, both have similar offset (assuming full for your putter and 1/2 for QB6), similar-ish look. Basically you could be someone where a face balanced blade works for you no matter what it is.

 

Other similar necks would be most single and double bend necks in a blade or wide blade and I'm just assuming from what you wrote.

So now that I'm reading your comment, I do remember people balancing a putter on their finger to show how said putter was face balanced. I just check my long neck and it has slight toe droop. Maybe 15° ish. I'll have to remember to do this to the queen b next time I'm in the store. I'm guessing it most likely closely matches this.

@MattM97 Sorry 1 more quick question. I just looked at bettinardi's website and the queen b is listed as 1/8 toe hang. Any clue what this means? 1/8th of what? 1/8th of 90° maybe? So 11ish degrees of toe hang?

Yeah something like that. Don't usually get super specific as bending can change the toe hang a bit.

I believe I’ve seen the Queen b 6 listed at 12 degrees of toe hang which makes it really similar to yours. Two different necks accomplishing the same thing: a nearly face balanced blade. A little different view from address, slightly less offset and deeper blade.

@schaperb90 - Curious, which long-neck blade have you been using. I've been getting along great with them lately as well.

@PopeofTexas I converted an old cleveland belly to 35" and put a winn 15" grip to kind of counter balance the heavy head weight a bit. Has been lights out for me for a while now. Been thinking about modding it and getting it refinished but just haven't found the time/right guy I trust to do it.
