Stroke Lab putters and GPS tags

I recently purchased a stroke lab putter and I'm trying to find a good way to attach my Shot Scope GPS tag to it. Because of the plug, I can't twist the tag into the middle of the shaft. I cut of the 'screw' portion a bit to try and get it through the grip and sit on top of the plug, but it hasn't worked out the greatest. It doesn't sit flush, it wobbles around. I thought about velcro but I also don't want to lose the tag... Anyone have a good solution?

@ZGriswold83 does this putter have a superstroke putter? I'm thinking of updating my putter grip and want to avoid this. Is the grip counterbalanced, or do they all have this issue with the plug?

I have the same issue with my Stroke Lab putters and ShotScope tag. They do sell additional putter tags, some that don't have the screw piece that they advise gluing to the butt end.

 

The solution I've found is by accident, where the screw piece broke off but left about a 1/8" inch peg that I can use to put into the hole of the grip while putting. It's not the best solution, but it works and stays in place for the stroke. Basically, I carry the tag like an extra ball marker and either tap my watch prior to putting or put it in the grip end. I do remove it before returning the putter to my bag because it has popped out a couple times and caused me to turn the bag over to retrieve it. Takes a few holes to get used to but is part of my routine now. I also rotate putters pretty often so I don't mind having it loose to use with whichever club I choose that day.

All stroke lab shafts have a plug glued into the end of the shaft, mine didn't have a superstroke, just a basic rubber pistol type grip. The grip itself isn't counter balanced, but I've read that the grip needs to stay within 5ish grams of the original grip (I think most are 76g on stroke lab putters) weight to maintain the same feel.

Thats what I have going on now, I may try some grip tape to see if that helps.
