Selling a beautiful putter today.  

 

2001 soft carbon steel Scotty Studio design 1

This one had never been restored until now and had just a few micro-nicks and surface rust.  With the big box refinishers like the custom shop, BOS or others you can typically lose 4 to 8 grams of weight with a refinish.  This one was refinished by hand with no machine grinding or belt sanding, “total weight loss 2 grams” Note: These heads were not 330 as some have said. They ranged from 334 to 339. This one was one of the heavier ones I have seen.

Finish: custom torched oil quenched Chromatic Blue oil

   7 step hand sanding process followed by 6 step hand polishing and buffing
   337 gram head.
   Feel is very balanced, soft and solid
   Original milling has been preserved. Face milling original “polished only not sanded”

The Studio Design 1 is a classic form with a heritage that dates back to Scotty’s garage, where each putter was individually made by him, by hand. Milled from a solid block of carbon steel for solid feel and precise tolerance, the Studio 1 features a soft flanged blade, flowing neck, high toe and dancing letters that evoke timeless designs. In-studio research has shown that many players drop their hands to raise the toe of the putter for proper alignment, conversely changing the angle of impact. The high toe of the Model 1 ensures proper alignment by maintaining a consistent lie angle. This combines with negative bounce so the putter never sits closed, perfect balance, a shiny gun blue finish and a specially designed paddle grip that compliments the look, to produce a putter of exquisite refinement.
