Been buying on eBay for 10 years and never had any issues. I suppose it was a matter of time before something like this happened….

 

Tube of what was supposed to be 7 modus shafts showed up today. First thing I noticed  was when the delivery driver came was how light it looked based on the way the guy was carrying it.
 

Sure enough the tube was missing a cap and no shafts inside 🙄

Did you say anything to the delivery guy when he was bringing it to you?

 

Not saying it's his fault, but I would have at least asked him about it to see what he said. I'm pretty positive they can mark an item as damaged upon delivery and I absolutely would have made him do that.

I saw her on our camera. When she tossed it on our porch I could see on the camera one side was completely open. When I went out to grab her, he was already on the truck and down the street, unfortunately.

Yeah I got it saved. I'll be honest, I am not super confident that the tube they "shipped" them in would have even held 7 iron shafts.

Open a case with eBay immediately with photos. Your credit card or paypal has purchase protection so either way you will get your money back.

That was my first big Uh oh. The tube looks like it was for shipping a single graphite shaft and not 7 iron shafts

I contacted the seller, and they said they would re-ship and sent tracking. Would it be better to just open a case?

Opening a case is just to let ebay know what’s going on. The seller can still respond in the case that they will resend with a different tracking number. I’d put in the case description that you had already contacted the seller and that they will resend.

Yes and post photos and memtioned the conversation with the seller. You want ebay to be in the loop on this so they can step in if the sellers do not resend.

Ah ok. I submitted a return request and noted that I was sent an empty box with none of the items and sent pictures.

Had that happen to me once with UPS where one end of the package was open. The UPS driver rang my doorbell and had me verify if everything was there. Two of the three shafts ordered were missing so she took the package back and flagged it as delivery denied / return to sender.

They can definitely hold 7 shafts, just shipped out 8 DG shafts in a similar tube, just need to flip half of them around so all the larger butt ends are not together.

I believe a return request is the correct option. If you choose 'I didn't receive it' Ebay automatically looks at the tracking to confirm it was delivered. If you choose 'Return this item' you get a wide selection of reasons such as missing parts of pieces. I would also note that I have video of the delivery and provide a screenshot of it as well.

Wait am I reading that correctly? To me, "Seller said they would re-ship" sounds like they sent you an empty tube and had the 7 shafts all along.. am I interpreting that wrong?

I had the same thought, but I just assumed he bought them from a retail like store that happens to sell stuff via ebay.

I am guessing based on the tube they sent it must have been a packing mistake rather than the shafts being stolen in transit. I couldn't find a weight on the package to see what it weighed when shipped to see if they were originally in the tube or not 

 

They were purchased from a fairly decent-sized seller with a good reputation.

Yeah mine just dumped it and left, unfortunately. By the time I got the motion notification, she was already gone
