Ping AWT 2.0 shafts

Anyone here play the stock steel shafts in their Ping irons? What are they comparable to and how do you like them? Thanks.

Ping shafts are under rated.  I had a set a few years ago and really liked them.  If I recall they are more of a mid launch shaft with a Nippon feel.  Not harsh or boardy.

I have them in my ping g410 irons. I’m afraid I couldn’t compare them to others as I’m not a shaft expert but they’ve been great for me. Easy to launch, easy to control, consistent results.

Slightly soft to flex but very nice. There made by Nippon so something like that

I've played them in numerous sets of Pings and liked them. The ascending weight aspect makes a lot of sense to me (shafts become heavier in the shorter irons) although I'm sure that's a personal preference.  Ball flight was high but not ballooning and distance was just about my average. Made by Nippon. Last time I demo'd it was a choice between them and the Modus 105"s. Really for me no discernable difference. Its solid option along with the other stock Ping options.

Playing G400's R flex, took a bit of getting used to feel wise but now I think they proved some of the best shafts around (for my old man swing).

I play them in stiff. I like them but I don’t have anything to really compare them to.

they are absolutely terrific shafts.  they were on my i25, switched them to a set of blades and then to my current TM irons.  Unfortunately I developed some tendinitis issues in my elbow and switched to graphite shafts.  They were truly wonderful steel shafts.  I had them in X flex.  Blew my KBS tour that came in my TM out of the water.  A close friend of mine plays the AMT shafts and he couldn't tell the difference blindly hitting shots with his 7 and mine.

So would you say the stiff flex is between a regular/stiff in say dynamic gold?

I think that somebody is confused....they make or at least they did have a dark/black matte version of the shaft available and I think someone is thinking it's graphite/composite.

Hello - Yes thats what it is.  I thought it was a graphite version of this shaft.  Got all excited!  Thank you for the insight.

hello, has anyone changed professionally pulled Ping AWT 2.0 shafts into another brand irons i.e. Wilson? same 0.355 tip

I have seen PING shafs in other heads, not specificly AWT but PING. so way not. the last WILSON heads I have had have been very good weighted and not to light like some of the "modern" heads of other major OEM. So should work fine with PING shafts, that are made by NIPPON anyway
