Pure Grips out of business!

I just talked to someone who up until yesterday worked for Pure Grips. He told me the owner called an impromptu company meeting yesterday and told everyone they're closing the doors, and they let everyone go on the spot. If you go to their website they've taken down the "Contact Us" page, and when you call their number (480-388-3210) it's a recording saying they have closed the business. Wow!

I really like their grips, but the constant sales tell me they were struggling.  If you ever paid full price you're a schmuck.  Last set I bought a month ago  I got 44% off retail.  Too bad, I like the grips, the simple install and the cool colors.

Total bummer.  I was really happy with the batch of midsize I just bought during the July 4 sale, and would have bought more in the future.

That is too bad.  I've been really happy with their grips.  Just put a set of Jumbos on my clubs and I'm really happy with them.  😮‍💨

Have to figure the operating cost and raw material prices are so much higher than the big guys now that they couldn’t sell enough to create the revenue needed to survive. It’s sad, but understandable.

Hate to hear this, love my pure grips. Really like being able to change grips so easily. Glad I have a couple of sets in waiting.

Bummer. Have had them on woods and wedges for a while and they got me fully converted to air installation.

 

I hope Star stays in the game, as good or better the Pure for the classic styles.

Star was around long before Pure, I think over 20+ years, so I don't see them going anywhere. And I personally like the midsize Star grips much better than the midsize Pure models. Just wish they made a jumbo size in the Sidewinder!

Damn, I just put on my new Pure Pro’s two weeks ago from the big sale. No wonder…

 

I heard good things about the Star Sidewinders, so I’ll have to try those out next.

Damn, the PURE grips were quality and they LASTED, great value and great feel with the EPMD rubber until they bumped up the price like the big boys.

 

So I started using Star, same material but I just feel they don't have the same finish like PURE

 

Sad but thanks PURE, all the best to the workers there 🙏

The Sidewinder is a great grip. Only a gram or two heavier than Pure Pro with a .59 core instead of .600. You could swap them out without buildup and forget you ever changed.

Damn I had JUST switched from Lamkin to Pure for my full set during their 44% off sale and the DTX grip is AWESOME.

Bummer! I wonder if there was some kind of acquisition involved or if it's just straight shuttered. Letting everyone go on the spot definitely sounds like the nuclear option though.

Total bummer.  I really enjoyed using their grips.  Now it makes sense why order time to delivery was taking two weeks.

That's a big, big disappointment.  Those were the only grips that I've used for 5-6 years.  Loved the ability to quickly swap and play immediately.

 

Gone for good or a restructuring?

So the big question...when's the going out of business sale? Guessing if they fully shut doors they'll try to offload everything to a reseller...Bummer.

 

Was just thinking yesterday I wanted to check out DTX in midsize - I liked the standard I had on a club I picked up but it was a bit too small. Any recco's for grips similar to the DTX?

I'm waiting for the sale, too. Will pickup a ton of DTX if possible.
