Pitching Wedge Blend

I have the Mizuno JPX 919 Forged irons and then have vokey wedges. I go from my 919 P wedge (bent to 48*) to my vokey 54. I love the P wedge for full shots but there is something to be desired for the half shots and controlling distance. What would be a good blend between the two? Something that still gets yardage on full swings but is easier to manipulate on off-speed shots.

I wouldn't fill that void.  You should be able to hit 48' shorter and push 54' a bit longer.  Least that's what I do, between my 52' and 58'.  Another option is to bend PW back to standard 46' and buy the sets 51'

 

My set PW is 44', so I bought the set Wedge at 48', which fits nicely with my Vokey 52'.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I don't want to add a club in between them, but potentially switch to a different pitching wedge that can hit the off-speed shots a little easier.

I bought a Vokey F-48/10 to swap in place of set 48.  It's excellent at full as well as variable swing shots, plus it aligns nicely with my other Vokey's.

Do you now have a 48-54-60 mix? 

 

If so, try out your 9i for half and 3/4 shots with a wedge-tempo swing to hit the in-between gaps.

 

And, on those partial wedges, are you a feel player or a matrix player? A feel player relies on innate sense of swing tempo to vary partial shot distances. A matrix player uses some variation of the Pelz clockface matrix to vary shot length using combinations wedge loft and backswing length.

 

If you are a feel player who struggles with distance control, you might try out the matrix to see if that's more predictable.

This is great advice. I’ve made this switch in the last year or so and have gone to shooting yardages for shots maybe 20-25 yards and out and it has helped my game tremendously. 
 

As to your original question, you might try adding just a bit of weight (lead tape) to your pitching wedge. It will make it feel closer to your likely heavier Vokey and may help feeling the head better for those partial shots. I would try that before making a purchase. Good luck.

Same shaft in the P and 54*? I have found that made the biggest difference for me wedge-wise.

Make sure the the bottom of your bag is 9 iron shaft length. Gives you a little variety to play with.

Mizuno S23 or Cleveland CBX Zipcore would both be good options. I have CBX Zips in my bag, and they are very consistent but also very forgiving. The grind is very versatile and good on tough lies. It is a little bigger and first thought might be that they may be cumbersome, but you’ll see they can be precise as a scalpel, but very forgiving on full shots.

I didn’t like my set PW for partial shots or shots around the green. 
I bought a 44* CBX Zipcore and it did the trick. Then I added a 48* and a 54*. 
 

I find them forgiving and long but with no jumpy face.

Currently I do not have the same shaft. I have my iron shaft in my pitching wedge (PX 6.0) and my wedges have the vokey wedge shaft
