Granted, his receivers didn't help him out much but some of his throws were also wounded ducks like the one where Zay Flowers was wide open but stumbled trying to adjust to it.  *shrug*  I should've gone with my initial instinct which was to take the Under.  Oh well.  Woulda coulda shoulda.

I’ve always felt Roberts does t seem to have a very good “feel” for when it’s time to get a pitcher. And it’s been pretty evident lately when Kershaw doesn’t have it. Probably wouldn’t have made a difference since the Dodgers couldn’t muster anything offensively, but it’s a lot easier to come back from 3 down than 6.

... Hard to say as he wasn't missing his spots per se but hitters were just all over everything he threw. I don't know how you pull Kershaw in the first inning after a couple runs but it really snowballed quickly and he wasn't getting anyone out. Diamondbacks have been like this all year. Just on fire at the plate or they can't hit anything. Last 3 games have been a great example and I expect them to have games with 1 to 3 hits. Obviously having the best defense in MLB helps but that is the only constant because the offense is just very streaky. Relievers are the same, walking 2 or 3 in an inning or getting everyone out. They could win the WS or lose the next against LA. 🤷‍♂️

I was talking to a buddy that works in the Dodgers front office. They weren’t super comfortable going w/Clayton in game 1. But it was him, a rookie or Lance Lynn (who is statistically in the running for worst starter in MLB). So Clayton it was. Nobody saw it going that badly.
