Jones Blind Draw Sale - bags

Just got my bag and am really happy with it, i tend to gravitate towards black or dark grey bags and was hoping to get something with some color, and sure enough i did

How is the trouper bag for someone that carries the majority of their rounds?

On the fence about ordering a Trouper. Do they all come with a dual strap setup?

They do but the 2nd strap is easily removed to convert it to a single strap.  That's how I have mine set up.

Thanks. I generally prefer 2 straps, just wanted to confirm.

I absolutely love this colorway.  I have a pair of True Linkswear and my apple watch ultra band that all match.  If shipping were so prohibitive, I'd offer to trade.  I am certainly not complaining though, as I got the charcoal with orange handle. I also picked up some blind draw hats, a cooler bag and some draw strings.

I got this same bag with green accents. I guess they had a bunch of the grey color ways left over. I was less than enthused about it when it first came but after using it for a week or so, its really growing on me. The major gripes are the pocket layout around the cooler but managing to make it work. I got caught in a storm the other day and it shed water very nicely.

 As soon as its something other than high of 95 here in WV, I am taking it out for a stroll.  Can't wait to try it.

How’s everyone loading up their bags, Ive only had 14 way dividers, so im not sure what should go where

 I have a Jones Rover stand, and I have wedges in the bottom, mid/long irons in the middle, and woods/putter in the top.

It is not a comfortable carry.  It is such a cool looking bag.  But, after using mine for a season, I had to carry it a few times at the end of last season (typically on a push cart but didn't have it and it was wet so no carts).  It was pretty terrible in that regard.  I have low back issues and have carried many times with little issue.  With the trouper, I was hobbling down the last hole.  

Not so much the weight.  It's not overly heavy.  The straps are not great for a long round and the bag digs into your back a bit.  It just had my entire posture messed up and after 4 hours of hauling it around, I was in a tough spot.  The bag isn't a great option in a cart and not a great carry for me.  So, it was relegated to a backup role. 

 

I used to be a Ping Hoofer guy and it was no where near as comfortable as a Hoofer.  The Trouper looks like it should be a light weight breeze to carry.  But, it's a form over function issue for me.  It seems kind of like a minimalist design and they went too minimal in the padding and straps.  It holds my extra clubs in the closet right now and I have a vessel.

Definitely agree. Hoofer is the gold standard. Even the heavier Hoofers carry much lighter due to the straps and balance. I don't carry a lot but the Trouper is just not balanced well. The straps aren't bad but the bag just doesn't sit as well.

I don't carry often.  Every once in a while.  The stand bag is just a lot easier for me to take to the range, practice green, set in the garage, etc.  I had zero issues with the bag until I tried to carry it.  The pockets I guess are kind of inefficient.  And, since I don't really drink, the cooler pocket was used for non beverages ha.  The divider layout was sound though.  Plus, I do like the retro look. 

 

I do wonder if there is a decent aftermarket strap option for these.  Or, maybe a redesign in their future.

Thinking about getting a blind bag for the trouper, how does it do with club tangle?  I have a ping hoofer lite and while I love the bag, the amount of club tangle I get is starting to become annoying.  

I get some club tangle, but with the ping, it's every single time.  I've had the SM 3.5, Nike air hybrid, and a mizuno BR-D3 and none of them have had problems with tangle.  

 

I really like the look of the Jones trouper and with no/minimal branding on the bag, it's definitely got me interested in one. 

 

Also, I rarely carry, usually ride a cart or if I do walk, I have a push cart.  Just easier to have a stand bag when at the range.

I don’t get the design of the pockets on the Trouper. Like what fool sat at their desk and thought, yeah let me put pockets in weird and hard to use places because I like to be different.

Surprised I didn't see this thread revived yet. I got the email on Friday for blind draw and bit on an A2 backpack. Sent an email hoping they'll be able to accommodate general color preferences. I've had my eye on these for a while, for $60 it felt like time to take a chance.

The A2 backpack is great. I got it in a blind sale awhile back and it’s been my go to.

I ordered the A2 blind draw this time and got the lighter pea green/black colorway.  My logo was the correct side. Really happy with the bag. Great deal for $60.
