Validate points.  It's jarring to watch, but it doesn't stop him from being 1st in most strokes gained categories.

I think he developed it to to get rid of his EE tendency and give him some room. His problem was getting a little across the line at the top and then standing up through the ball according to their session together with his coach on swing expedition.

It’s been said before, but the feet aren’t dancing at impact. After impact he could tap dance for another yard. It looks ungamely after the ball is on the way. 
Watching a lot of Scottie lately, but he does the same thing every single swing. Uphill that left foot doesn’t move. Downhill he’ll almost step his right foot over the left. 
Though it doesn’t look balanced, it is for him.

Bingo. The footwork is a product of his great upright move and use of the ground.  It’s not a hindrance.

Even the guys we think of has having such stable and mellow swings look much different when you isolate the feet.

 

And those are virtually all with steel spikes that some claim they absolutely need to keep feet from sliding.🙄

The only thing that bugs me about his feet are all the moronic announcers that kept saying ‘he’s only moving those feet after impact, so it’s really not a factor...’,  Really?!  I’ve seen the video and it sure looks like he’s sliding that back foot around well before impact.

 

And only an idiot would change what’s working in their game.
