That would be harsh on Straka..Probably Nikolai just misses out even if a T5 today was good performance.  Picking Aberg is logical.

But Nikolai being 15th on Race to Dubai despite concentrating on getting a PGA Tour card is not bad for an "average" season😆

On Monday I thought despite the amazing talent Aberg it was too soon to pick him but on Thursday having spoken to someone I know who is in the know the word on the tour is he was going to be a pick. The win will dispel any doubt if the pick materialises as expected.

I agree.  When they played that GBI va Euro team tourney earlier in the year Straka was less than impressive.  I'd rather take Matt Wallace than Straka...

Meronk is the Italian Open champion at Marco Simone this year. That could play a factor in the picks.

I do feel for Meronk as rankings (RTRD, Euro points list) wise he's out performed N Hojgaard. I do like the team and I'm optimistic they will do well.

Some similarities with Luke picking Lowry and Zack picking JT. Both players are high quality but both are off form and will be under big pressure to perform.
