Haha, so I'm not watching the final round - or maybe I am tape delayed - they haven't said a word and nothing on the crawl, lol.

 

Maybe in 30 minutes they'll break in with the playoff - I guess I'll keep it on in case they show the rain and everything they had earlier.

first afrikans player to win on the dp tour also and its almost from out of no where as his world ranking 466 didnt get him into alot of dp tour events.

on a side note canter the guy that lost is now #1 in r2dr and projected inside the top 50 owgr so he gets an invite to tpc sawgrass and could be the first former liv player to play in a pga tour event

I have to admit that I thought that Dylan Naidoo would lose the playoff because he missed a short putt the night before that would have given him the outright lead. The golf gods have a way of punishing players for that. 🤣 Good win for him, though.

He's an Englishman.

 

Some clickbait titles out there but most "articles" correctly identify him as a former LIV player.  An example of someone they recruited and didn't do much with and who sat out the period required by Tour rules and became eligible again.  Maybe he's got gobs of money, who knows.

 

No problem here, the rules allow him to play.

Good for him. Flip side is the headline writers / PGA reps are in a rough spot.

Not so sure - it affirms that all the silliness spouted and printed about "bans", etc. have been the hyped rhetoric that was easy to see through all along.

 

The Tour enforced its rules, known to the players that chose to violate them, has rules that govern how they get to play again -  this guy made his way back.  Tour has been consistent on this and sure isn't going to throw up barriers to him getting in. Tour looks pretty good, IMO.  The exhibition outfit pretty much churned and burned yet another player - this one made his way back, and guessing he's happier than what he's been doing (which is not much) the last couple of years he's lost off his relevant career in particular. 

 

Just a take.

 

Anyway - back to Naidoo - enjoying seeing the occasional replays of his celebration from this morning.

Why is Canter no longer a liv player? Hasn't he played quite well? At least in non-liv events, I don't know about actual liv events.

So just saw that Marco Penge was back at it in SA this past week.  Have to say I'm a little unsure on all of this.  I mean, if you are going to take money from the betting sites, you have to be ready for a player or two to get tangled up.  But if you are going to project an image of things being on the level, you have to come down hard.  I know he admitted it straight away(but if they are coming to him they likely have irrefutable evidence so what good is a denial?) and he didn't bet on himself or when he was competing, but still, 2 months seems an awfully soft suspension.

 

I don't know the guy, I don't care one way or the other if he has a great career or a poor one, I'm just not sure a two month suspension(especially in Dec/Jan ) is a strong enough message.  Just can't help but feel this a sporting equivalent of the "security theatre" you see at the airports.

Angel Cabrera back in the masters, we are so back

Cabrera has been back since last year. He played on the Legends Tour in Europe and the Champions Tour.

 

He won once in Europe and finished T5 in the Senior Open Championship.

 

The swing is still looks great and rhythmical.

Enjoyed watching the conclusion on Samsung TV - well, until the three players were getting ready to play their second shots on the first playoff hole when they cut away. Not to adverts - to a compilation of shots that Shane Lowry hit over the years!  Didn’t go back live until the players were walking onto the green! No cutaways on the second extra hole fortunately - congratulations to Calum!

As a Scotsman, it is nice to see Callum Hill getting back in the winners circle. Seemed to be on a real upward trajectory a few years ago but came across some difficulties with injury. Bob MacIntyre has showed some of his peers what is possible and hopefully the likes of Hill and Ferguson can start to cash in on their potential as they get into the more traditional peak career years.

Yeah it's a really neat and tidy swing. Thankfully he's got rid that pre-shot stuff he was doing that looked really awkward, I'm sure it served a purpose.

 

I think he can kick-on as he appears to have all the attributes. Calum has stated he is trying to get into the top 100 OWGR in the short term.

This week's DPWT event is in SIngapore... There's a good chance of significant rain delays / washout.

A "monsoon surge" (persistent tropical storm) lasting from Weds to at least Friday is in-motion. 

 

Flash flood alerts being reported across Singapore and neighbouring Johor in Malaysia.

The DPWT's tweets' descriptions of the bad weather = an understatement.
