Right, I was just surprised how soft and non-durable the cover is. It's been years since I played a ball that got cut up like that.

The “22XS cover was a bit more durable but the new model is almost too soft. I played XS until the ‘22BX was released. Since then I’ve been in the BX since it has the softer feel I prefer and increased spin.

Played a round yesterday with the 24 BX, held up really well. Had 2 shots where i had to purposefully go through some branches to cut to the green, and skid one off the cart path and by the end of the round I can easily say I can use the ball again for another 18. Held up really well to full wedge shots and 1 bunker full wedge. Has maybe 2 blemishes on the cover

I've had a few more round since my last post with both the X and RX and they really seem to be pretty close to the same ball.  The RX feels a tiny bit softer, but that is really the only discernible difference between the two for me out on the course.  Maybe some slight differences would show up on a launch monitor or if you're more consistent than I am, but I've switched balls mid round a couple of times and it was a seamless switch every time.

Anyone know what the best model year was for the BRX?  I guess I mean softest 🙂

Fellow Canadians it's that time of year to stock up on Bridgestone balls if they're your thing. They're on sale at golf town for $45CAD/dozen on all current gen balls.

For ever and ever, all I have used have been ProV1 or the odd ProV1x.. the other day I went to hit balls in the sim at our club and someone had left a couple of brand new looking Bridgestone BXS balls in the bay, so I decided just to try them out. I wasn't sure if these were the cheaper, lower level balls, or the good ones and I did not research until I got home. I swing driver right around 100 mph, and I typically like a softer ball, and I really liked these! They were long, felt good, and were getting tons of spin. Definitely similar if not better than my ProV1's I usually use. When I looked them up that day, it said these were for higher swing speed players, over 105 mph, which is not really me, although sometimes I get close. So now I am curious to try the other ones that might fit me even better. For the first time in over 20 years, I may try a new ball this upcoming summer. Kind of exciting.

The swing speed myth was busted years ago. The BXS and BX are great balls that perform as good or better than anything else out there. If you like a softer feeling ball that has a soft feel and spins great off the irons, the BXS is perfect for you.
