2024 Bridgestone Balls?

KhiloD

Recommended Posts

I am in on the Bridgestone XS for a while

3 dozen pack of XS from Dick's

I do like the mindset but the 3 pack is too good of a deal to pass up

Now I need a green marker to make it mindset myself

This 2024 BX ball is a very unique ball

ball speeds are High, yet the ball feels soft and spins around green as much as I need for Sure

like a ProV1 with higher landing angles and better greenside spin

Even on the putter the ball cover feels much softer than I expected

big change from prior models

BX is my new Gamer ball

I cannot say enough great things about it

and don't worry about 105mph -it's for Everyone!

Low spin driver bullets with less curve

high spin irons with stopping power

zip on wedges galore

softer on putter than V1X and you'd expect

across the board

Which Bstone ball is most like the current Pro V1x?

Actually I'm finding the BXS closest to v1x ...... both are highest launching in lineup and also higher spin in and around the greens .....biggest difference is BXS is much softer than v1x ..... BX is a very good ball but doesn't spin as well as v1x or BXS for me.

I think 'they' would argue This one - BX

but honestly it is right in between - kinda best of both worlds

I found I got too much curve on driver and irons with the BXS with no real change in short game

Spin on the BX is Nailed in my view

Yes thanks..... both TP5 and Zstar diamond are very solid balls especially if you like/need more spin as I do.....

The BIGGEST issue with both balls is .....into the wind , they fail in performance......

Small example: in South Florida,  we are flat but heavy air ......into the wind shots I normally just hit stinger like shots ......well one day I had 160 to pin and choose a flighted 5i the TP5 flies lower than TP5X but was truly exposed on this one. The TP5 only flew about 130 and you should have seen the look on my face! I grabbed a TP5X out of the bag and promptly flew it about 3-5 yds past hole stopping about 7yds past pin.

Same thing happened with diamond.

Since switching to BXS those shots have reduced to 3yds less than TP5X whilst spinning better and more consistently into and around the green.

Hope this gives some insight.....but remember,  I'm old and slow in comparison to most on WRX so YMMV

If you have any further questions,  feel free to reach out.

I am also a new convert to the BX. It's an amazing ball. High compression, but has a soft feel. Low spin off the driver, high spin with wedges. Irons are in the middle. Perfect. I had been playing the left dash, great ball, but really firm and spin around the greens was inconsistent for me.

How close would the BX be to the Chrome Tour? I'm playing the XS right now but feel like it's short off the Tee and mid irons (Probably due to more spin). My driver SS is 95-100. I Love the soft feel of the XS and putting but other than that I'm not sure it's the ball for me. The Chrome Tour was a beast but I'd like Bridgestone due to little cheaper on price.

Bridgestone has been my ball of choice going back to the B330 days. I started with the B330s which transitioned to the BXS. I'm a high launch high spin player, and liked how well the old BXS balls performed even though the ball profile might be contrary to my playing style. Yeah it launched a bit high and spun a bit more on the longer clubs than what was probably ideal for me, but I always felt like the ball performed consistently. With this year's change to the BXS I didn't even try it, and instead have been playing the BX with decent success. The ball spins enough around the green for the conditions I play. My main complaint seems to be noticeable inconsistency off the tee, mainly this ball will just launch extra high without explanation. It's still low spin enough to get where it needs to go for the most part, but if one of these extra high launch shots shows up when playing into the wind, its not going anywhere. Its caused me to second guess my ball all year, and try out other ones because of it. I'm still trying to find the magic of the older versions.

Anecdotal but I felt like the Chrome Tour was much more consistent with the launch angles than the BX while also performing better in the wind. The ball seemingly spins less on shortgame shots than the BX but feels comparable off the putter. I still have to play more with the Chrome Tour to see if I can adjust my short game play to it, because I do think its a better ball than the BX throughout the rest of the bag.

After playing B330-S and BXS for years, I jumped to the BX for the first half of this year. But, I felt that I was spinning the ball a bit too much off the tee. That led me down the rabbit hole of trying different balls. I went through a lot of trial and error this year.

I know a lot of people won't really consider non-urethane balls, but I've settled on the E12 Contact as the perfect ball for where my game is right now. I can still get a surprising amount of spin off the wedges, and it's working out much better off the driver. I would guess that I'm giving up a bit of distance on pure strikes (95-100ss). But I am really keeping it straighter, saving me strokes.

It doesn't hurt that they can be readily found for <$30/dozen, down to $20-25 if you wait for sales.

It's getting to that time of year where Bridgestone balls get heavily discounted or put on sale and I'll do my best to stock up on the BX, in the past I've been so,so on them but I think I know more of what to expect from them now, plus a bit of change in the swing might make them more beneficial.

i like the BRX, its close to the AVX, if discounted may look in to Yellow BRX

I've been wondering about the B RX myself since my SS is 95-100. Just not sure what to expect as for as iron spin and spin into and around the Greens with it. I do like a little Spin from mid irons in But I don't want much driver spin. The Chrome Tour Fit this perfectly and was an awesome ball for me. I just hate the 55 bucks for it.

I remember playing the BRX, its not as soft as the AVX, I like a soft golf ball

I like the softer feel as well. I found and played another Chrome Tour Yesterday and That ball is just crazy Awesome! Just wish I could find a Bridgestone match for it. But to be honest I don't think there's a Match to it For me Atleast anyways. It's a beast in every category! But I haven't ever played an AVX so not sure how that ball would work for me

This.

Totally agree.  It's eerily similar except for landing angles.  If I was a high ball hitter I would surely be in CT or Pro V1, but I'm not.

I’ve used BX for a few years now and love them. Switch between them and Vice Pro depending on season and course.

Recently tried BXS because I had pro shop credit at a course I don’t usually play, and that’s all they had. I don’t mind the little extra spin and they perform well, but the cover seems much less durable and than BX, or Vice Pro. I played Chambers with them and had two get big cuts in them within a couple holes each and I’m really not sure how. Anyone else had this issue with the BSX?

The cover on the XS is softer than BX no doubt. However, that’s what gives it the additional spin so it’s a give and take.
