Just did a Bridgestone ball fitting , and the B RX was 8 yards shorter than the ProV 1x that I usually play. I don’t have a very high swing speed, so I was surprised I lost so much distance from a ball designed for lower swing speed.

I had the exact opposite experience.  BRX was 10 yards further than any of the ProV's on drives and 5 yards further on full iron shots.  My driver swing speed is 104.  7 iron is 87 mph.

I have been having this feeling, but wasn't sure until today.  I've been going in and out of playing CT/CTX and some TP5x this year.   Every now and then I'd throw in a 24 BX to try and think "ok, this is a good ball and it does it all very well".  However, both CT and CTX were longer off the tee so I shelved the BX.  Today, I was in a pretty meaningful match with some members of our course and I shot 37 on the front with CTX.  Got a wild hair and switched to 24BX on the back and made 4 birdies in a row and barely missed two coming in, I shot 32 but it could have been 30.   I will be playing this ball the rest of the year.  For sure.  What a great golf ball.

I have pretty much come to the conclusion that the B X and TP5x are the best balls of ‘24 for me.  I still haven’t tried the CTX, only the CT.

currently still playing the Z Star XV because I got a smokin deal on 4 dozen but it performs just as good, imo.

Was in a tournament a few weeks ago and I finally got my prize

A brand new dozen BridgeStone Mindset B XS

Put a ball in play for a few holes last night and came away very impressed with this ball

I had some TP5x pix and I really like them but they are too firm for my liking when putting

Really enjoying this ball

Does not back up on the green too much, flies really far, and feels good off the putter

I am a sucker for truvis and pix, so I got the mindset

I am not really sure I am working it correctly, but  the "focus on the green dot when hitting" is working out for me nicely.

Like that part of it.

Hopefully will test some out this weekend

Still have some TP5x to go through along with some Wilson Triads but if I can control my duck hook this weekend, will put them in play.

Aight!

I've now been playing with BX for a month or so and couldn't be happier.  I've cycled through most of the lower spin tour balls this year and gave a few a good hard look for the bag.  CTX is near perfect, but it has a tendency to spin up a little much off the irons at times.  I'm not short by any means, but distance is a thing for me.  My driver is usually around 265 up to 280+ if I crank one, which means a long par 4 can be tough.   My 7 iron is around 165.  Chrome Tour was a little low spin off driver and I saw a couple knuckle from time to time. -Dash is too firm and not enough juice around the greens for me.  TP5X was almost perfect and very close in performance to BX, but it felt firmer than I liked.  BX does it all.  No, it's not the longest but it's close enough.  Irons are perfect mid height with just enough spin to control flight.  The feel is incredible to me and it's probably my favorite thing about this ball.  It's similar to the last model in that Its cover is pretty firm but there's this nice softish compression off the irons.   Feels really good around the greens and off the putter.  Bridgestone continues to make awesome golf balls and the price is fairly decent.   If you are still looking for a ball for 24, give it a fair shot. ✌🏼️

Those distances are pretty spot on for me as well.

I concur, love this ball.  I think I said it before in here or maybe another one, the Tour B X and TP5x are the balls of the year for me in ‘24.  The Chrome Tour is good but not enough spin where I want it. The CTX I still haven’t tried as there just was no reason to.   I am still playing Z Star XV yellow as I go through a deal I got on them and it stacks up very well too.   The feel of the BX was better than TP5x for me. The XV feels similar to BX to me.  In fact when I play both in yellow if I am Not paying attention, I couldn’t tell you which one I was playing.

I do NOT care for the mindset thing.  Just plain yellow BX.  Great ball.

Played 18, alternating between MTB-X, CTx, BX, and ProV1x. For the most part, the balls all performed nearly identical to each other.

On drives, the MTB-X flew the straightest, but distance wise they were all within about 10-15 yards. CTx and ProV1x had less control when hitting a draw than the other two balls and could easily turn into a nasty hook.

Approaches, all were very close to their pitch marks. Snell MTB-X flew highest, and the other 3 were indistinguishable. They all felt about the same firmness as well.

Chipping, I’m not sure if today was just a bad day or if my wedges need to be replaced, but I could not get much check out of any of those balls. I realized that the wedge I used to practice with in my earlier post is a 54 degree that I didn’t put into play much because I decided to go 56/60. My gaming wedges may be worn enough to make it difficult to put spin on the balls when I need them.

On putting, the CTx felt softest and the BX nearly identical to the MTB-X with feeling the most firm. I really liked the TruVis alignment on the CTx.

Overall, I am going to stick with my supply of MTB-X until I run out of them. Does anyone have any Snell 4.0 that they decided they won’t be gaming and would like to do a 1 to 1 trade for CTx or BX?

are you saying the new Bx is firmer thank the Prov1x?

I was the same, wanted more pop but don’t like a firm feel. The three balls that I’ve found work best for me are the CTX, BX, and new TP5x. Performance wise in the long game they are practically the same for me. However feel wise, CTX is the softest, BX is touch firmer, then TP5x is a touch firmer. Inside 100yds the CTX spins the most, then BX, then TP5x. Honestly I can play any of these balls, but I prefer a softer feel and more spin since I like to play more partial wedge shots so CTX is my favorite.

BX and the Maxfli Tour feel similar to me

Around the same compression too 84-86

The BX is longer for me off of the tee and with my irons

The BX and the Wilson Triad are the 2 longest balls I have ever hit off of the tee

Besides the E9 (if you even want to count that)

I stopped playing the Maxfli because they were short off of my irons

Distance was good off the tee with the Maxfli, but the XS just does it all for me

I go back and forth between the XS and the Triad depending on what kind of deal I can get on them

BX compression (98) is grossly higher than the standard Maxfli Tour. The BXS is similar.

I’m not playing the 2024 BX’s yet, but have a large stock of 2022’s. I go back and forth between the new Maxfli Tours (2023?) and the BX’s, and the performance is similar for me. My drives are pretty straight and long with both compared to other balls. Irons go pretty long and hold the greens without ripping back too much. The older BX’s were hard with my putter, but have softened over time.

I feel like the BX’s are slightly better in all around performance, but I don’t know if the performance differences are worth the price difference. Luckily I pick up my balls on sale, but the Maxfli’s seem to go on sale more frequently throughout the year. If money were no object for me, the BX’s would be my choice. If I can find a good deal for them, I’m definitely picking up a few dozen.

"Bridgestone isn’t changing up compression much for 2024. We measured the previous models at 94 for the B X, 84 for the B XS, 79 for the B RX and 65 for the B RXS. Bridgestone says the new models should all be within a point or so of those measurements."

According to this, the compression of the XS is 85

This is the ball I was talking about not the BX

BX and CT kept coming up in my results. Both are excellent options for me. I have 1 dozen Pro V1x to use but our season will be close to over or over when I run through them so I will be the recommended testing balls during the winter. New Pro V1/V1x will be out too.

As a long time B user.. I’m talking since the b330/(s) days and even precept if you like… I’m moving on from the 24’ Tour BX.
it’s a good ball, but it just spins too much for me in the bottom half of the bag. It’s closer to the BXS than ever in that regard.
(8-Lw)

*My new gamer is now the Chrome tour.*

After testing sleeves of

TP5(and x)

titleist (all 3 proV models)

chrome tour and x

wilson staff and x

maxfli tour (all 3)

it was a lot of fun. All on the course testing last 2 weeks. (What Twilight golf is for)

I almost committed to the prov1.. it’s super solid. But I’ve never gamed a Titliest. I keep hearing Jim Nance’s voice even thinking about em.
Wilson staff is great too. It’s on the back burner.

🍻 cheers

80% sold after 2 rounds

did think I wanted a new ball at all.....

Long this one is - half club for me irons it feels like

spin is impressive into greens right up the bag

little harder than I am used to on putter, but distance control is there

another round should seal or fade the switch

impressive ball for certain
