I hear you.  I have bought so many damn putters over the last 6 months, I didn’t need a new one either.  I surprisingly like this one though, thinking about extending it and maybe giving it a go.  It’s been a long time since I had any milled putter in my bag.

Also I have to add in the past I have not been a spider or TM guy. I am moving from a NP2 and I putted with this putter for about 2 hours at GG. They... we're not thrilled. Even though it's basically carpet rolling I made a lot of putts and felt like it was something I can build off. Every once in a while I would get a ball that went a few extra feet by, but I feel like I can build with this.

How do like the pure roll insert?  I have never gotten along with it but this spider x tour proto with the milled face feels great!  It’s just hard for me to fully compare to my other gamers since it’s 4 inches shorter currently.

You know I actually have always hated every face insert I have putted with except the OG white hot. This face is tolerable. It's not clicky or hallow feeling, but it definitely still lacks the softness and sofistication of other top inserts. It's doable, I think mostly because the weights in the front make it feel ever so slightly firmer than the rear weighted model. So overall, just doable nothing great, but again I putted with the AI line today and I did not like the Milled or the WH insert

I’ve been playing with a OG WH insert for about 10 years now and it’s so hard to adjust to anything else.  It’s like a security blanket for me at this point.  Hopefully you can get your hands on a Milled spider so you can compare and contrast.  I’m sure more will be released.

Tell your brother congrats. I missed out again. I had been checking this thread and the TaylorMade website like every 30 minutes. And of course when I couldn’t check is when it was posted about the release at golf galaxy.

He got lucky thanks to the Wrx community.  He said it’s not supposed to ship for 2 weeks though which seems odd.

I had just enough golf galaxy rewards expiring to tempt me in to buying one last night. I’ve always loved the the shape and ease of alignment of spiders, but never have loved the inserts. Always said I’d love to see a milled version.

 

I haven’t seen the head weight advertised anywhere on these. Anybody know what the head weighs in at?

Hey Corey, TheMoneyShot posted the head weight is 355g I think you will really like this putter, they did a great job on this one and huge improvement over the insert in my opinion.
