I count 19 clubs in the bag ... And that's no putter. Is that a lot? I understand a couple trade outs ...

BL is hands down the most anal about his irons and gear.  I am very surprised they got him to use these irons and even then he has always had a hard time with the pw and 9 iron.  

For many years he used a PSi Forged PW and a 9i made by the TX / Nike guys, Artesian. 

They had Adam mid irons, another Artesian and something else for his long irons. 

So knowing BL he has a couple on there for looks and pics but when he plays he yanks them for what he knows and loves. 

He also still uses the same Hogan shafts he has used most if not all of his career. 

The dude is a testament.  He is NOT a true WRX'r, that is for sure.

Yeah I was gonna say the same thing. The Artisan 9 iron is still in there as well as all of his old wedges. Couldn’t tell with the other short irons. Looks like he has TE stuff in there for the club count but then goes right back to the old faithfuls come game time. 
 

He is so set in his ways (with good reason obviously) that I would hate to be a club company trying to get him in my gear.

Pretty clear that Langer grabbed the used clubs bag while at edwin watts.  That staff bag is HUGE.

We followed Das Machina and LaBritz today for round 2.  Langer seemed to be stuck in neutral most of the round but he's close enough to the leaders to still be a threat.  We also followed Padraig and Kelly for a little bit. Padraig was not being cheated out of his tee shots... his practice swats on the tee looked more like he had a Superspeed stick in his hands.  As he did last week, definitely taking advantage of the length while he can.

 

First time at this event or Phoenix CC and is was fantastic.  The course layout is the best I've ever seen for patrons.  There were so many places to walk and see several groups from a single location.  We've already got it on the calendar for 2024.

The Tour Edge commercials were always a joke, Langer holding one of their drivers in his hand like he plays with it although he never has had one in his bag. Seems to be trying to hide the Ping driver and 3 wood that he uses under Tour Edge headcovers.

Langer is such a fascinating player (always has been). I've been a fan of his since the mid 1980s. I've met him a few times - he is very cool to talk to when he has the time. imo he is one of the greatest players of all time ( top 25) imo.
