Heated hand warmers (not gloves)

Not sure why my d*mbass has never thought about this after 11 years of golfing but has anyone ever used heated hand warmer on the course?? Im talking about the ones you tie around your waist. Frozen hands are likely my #1 issue when playing in the winter. Those HotHands just isnt enough. I see a few manufacturers make these handwarmers, but none are heated.

 

Anyone have any recommendations or experience with any?

I use one of the Titleist ones from a few years ago. It has a small zipper pocket that I drop a few HotHandz in about 30 minutes before the round and it works pretty well. It is a little big though, so it sort of becomes annoying to spin it around before you hit a shot sometimes.

 

Overall, I'd say it works as well as just stuffing your hands in your pockets? I've found that on days that I've forgotten to bring it, that I don't really notice much difference just throwing a few warmers in the pockets of my jacket. It's a nice alternative though. 

 

Long story short, I like them, but also can go without. Definitely not a necessity.

I picked up some rechargeable hand warmers on Amazon and they work well.

I too have one of the Titleist QB hand warmers as my buddies and I call them. Definitely serve their purpose, especially if you toss a hand warmer in the little zipper pocket. But I always had to swing it around to my backside to be comfortable swinging and putting. Wasn’t a complete deal breaker, but does get old doing that dozens and dozens of times throughout a round. 
 

I’ve personally found that if its warm enough to warrant using it, I am probably wearing some sort of rain pants as a second layer on my legs, and I just throw hand warmers in those pockets and i’m good to go.

my partner wears those big cart mitts and they have a place for a HotHands.

I like a medium weight winter glove (FJ) and supplement with the warmers.

 

whatever keeps you warm, dry and is easy to use - up to the individual.

I use one.  Don't even know it's there when swinging.  Toasty hands without gloves in sub-40 temps is pretty nice.

Big mittens with Hot hands thrown inside. Don’t have to take off the winter golf gloves. 
 

With those QB hand warmers, how are you supposed to push your cart? Seems silly to me. As said above, cumbersome.

Ahhh, I think you've identified the key issue: I carry my bag since I find pushing a cart to be very ... cumbersome.  😉

I like my titleist one and don’t find it a big deal to swing it back for swings. 
 

that G tech looks very tempting with the rechargeable battery. Hope they do Black Friday.  
 

any reason to spend 10 more for the military grade version?  Seems like not much given how expensive they already are

Just be sure to not warm your golf ball, if playing in competition.

If I'm walking, I use the clicgear cart mitts attached to my pushcart handlebar, with hot hands super warmers inside. I've tried the rechargeable rectangular hand warmers and found that the heat doesn't radiate much (if at all) like the hot hands warmers do.

I second electric handwarmers, hell you could even put them inside the waistband thing and it would work perfectly

I purchased one of the realtree camo versions at a pretty substantial discount, which may still be available.  If it's cold enough for me to use the pouch, I'm not winning any fashion competitions anyway.  I could not tell what the difference was between the realtree, milspec and sport versions other than a little flap on the realtree/milspec versions that covers the indicator light.

I have the rechargeable hand warmers as well. Works well for me in 40 degree weather.

I use the Zippp ones that use lighter fluid.  They are very warm and last way longer than a round.  They are a Godsend for unpleasant conditions.  I use the large ones and they put out mega heat.
