Anyone playing Eleven Golf Hybrids?

NoTalentLefty

Recommended Posts

I bought a set from 4 to PW 4 years ago with the original Eleven graphite shaft not the current KBS TGI that they offer. I get a consistent straight mid trajectory ball flight. I changed to these after suffering the shanks for 3 years. It’s been the best purchase I have done in order for me to restore confidence, be able to play without fear and maintain a 5 HCP.

I just ordered an 8 from them.  How long did it take from order to delivery?

@NoTalentLefty

I got a 7 iron to try out a week ago.  Took a week to get to the states.   Looks great-easy to hit- picked up about 10 yards and goes very high and drops on the greens with little roll.   Will be ordering the whole set this weekend. Eleven is going to make my golf game Great again!

Only have the 9 currently. I’m using it instead of my XP 41 degree PW. Due to the lofts are within 2 degrees and the distance is about the same. My dispersion is better with the Eleven hybrid. Feel was never the problem on the PXG wedge so it’s a wash there and that it’s fantastic. I decided to get an 8 to replace my 9 iron.
I go by distance.

How does the Eleven hybrid feel compared to the G430 7 hybrid? If the Eleven 8 hybrid works for you, will you consider replacing your existing hybrids in your bag?

The g430 7 will continue to be in my bag. Nothing feels better than that club. No replacing of my current hybrids though the elevens feel great. Might replace my 47 gap wedge with the 43 degree eleven in the future.

Wow, a 5 HC playing all hybrids. Just goes to show, never bet on another man’s trick. All hybrid sets are awesome I think.

It seems like I can’t miss a green with the 8 & 9.  The only problem is they hit so high I lose the ball, not joking . The ball look like it’s coming up short but it doesn’t.

Distance wise, are they more comparable by iron number or loft?

I’ve got a 30° 6 hybrid I want to swap out, but I see their 7H is 31°.

I can’t answer that since my 6 hybrid is 27 degrees . Here is the replacement for my PXG irons:

9 iron 36 degrees - 35 degree 8 Hybrid. I get the same distance or at least a good enough for who it’s for right at 130-135.

PW 41 degree - 39 degree 9 Hybrid right at 120-125 I was getting with the PW.
If hit with a slight thin shot my experience they can go 5+ yards further but still get decent height.

Old topic, new post - just ordered a set, we’ll see how they play.  Per website, I probably won’t see them for 3 weeks.

My guess is you’re going to like them.

I bought a hybrid set of Tour Edge E522s two weeks ago as an experiment and I liked how easy they are, I’m a 3 capper which these clubs weren’t necessarily designed for, lol!  Anyway, the Elevens look more player like to me and I dropped $1100 for a 3-PW, SW set.

Any comparisons from the Elevens to T-Rails or Cleveland Halo Full Face?

None from me, my first rodeo with all hybrids.  Supposedly won’t see Elevens for 3 weeks BUT promise to report back shortly afterwards with one week’s play.

I ordered the Eleven 7 hybrid about a year ago (with the 70g shaft).

I couldn't hit it.  Pushed everything right.

Sold it to a forum member.

So I didn't have a good experience with it.

Not sure if the issue was the clubhead or the shaft.

I'm currently playing the Cleveland Halo XL Irons and love them.

I have their DW-7i in my bag also with a 70g shaft.

Yeah, that was me, and I had the same results. 😂

I’m sure it was because of the super flat lie as I documented on the first page.  I’m still considering getting some but I’m going to talk to them first, to ensure correct lie angles.

There is also a lot of onset instead of the usual offset for irons. I have the Launcher HB irons and when I first hit the Eleven 7 iron everything was a push/slice. I really had to focus on rotating my hips and squaring/closing the face to get the ball to go straight or draw.

That’s true.  But I have an Eleven 8 hybrid that I hit straight.  It has a more appropriate lie angle.

I just looked at their websites. The Eleven irons are 0.5* flatter for each iron #. Doesn't seem like that would make a huge difference. Unfortunately Eleven irons can't be bent.

Go back to the previous page if you want to see my story of the flat 7 hybrid.  Long story short it was way off spec.

edit, it was another thread

I guess if they are true to listed lie spec it wouldn't be a problem. But if they are off there is really nothing you can do to fix it since they can't be bent.

My set came today and I busted out a quick 9.  Love the looks, sound and feel.  These hybrids are same lofts as my Tour Edge set but a club longer distance wise.  New hybrids have a lot of forward face progression, don’t know if it’s possible to shank them.  Looks like face and soles will wear quickly, no biggie though.  Comparison pics of 7 & PW with Tour Edge provided.

Thanks for the comparisons. I’ve always like to see how the rate against a name brand sets.

After the Christmas rush, I think I'm going to take the plunge.  I still have the 8 that I bought many months ago.  I took it out today and it's just so accurate.  For me the head design is perfect for an iron replacement, what with the onset but slight closed face (IMO).  The stock 70 shaft is super accurate too.  I sort of feel it's too stout for me, or would be in the longer clubs.  That's been keeping me from just ordering a set.

The best thing for me to do would be order a 6 or 7 in the 60 shaft and see what I think.  The GolfWRX thing would be to order 4-PW in the 60 and try them.   Or I might just lose interest, that would be very GolfWRX as well.  🤣

Honestly, based on the 8 hybrid, I can't see continuing to play any numbered irons.  Talk about cheat sticks.   These have a formula not found from any other company.  They are true hybrids, not iron hybrids.  For me, iron hybrids go left of left.  I'm talking about the Clevelands, the T-Rails, Tour Edge, Launch Pads, things like those.  And compared to other full sets of conventional hybrids, these are heavier and shorter, just slightly longer than most irons.  In fact at 37", this 8 is the same length as my 8 iron.  And the shaft is very tight, not some $2 filament wound house brand piece of junk.

I've mentioned my flat lie problem with the first 7H I tried from Eleven.  This time, I'm going to talk to their clubmaker and make sure I get one that is in spec.

My plan is that my bag makeup would be:

Driver

5 wood

4-9 or PW Elevens

wedges and putter

The only question is whether the 4H will fly high enough to replace my 7 wood.  It doesn't have to go as high, but it has to go high enough.

I have the PXG Black Ops 4-7 hybrid.  Love em.  Been toying with trying the Eleven 8 hybrid.  But the lie on the Eleven 8 hybrid is 63 deg.  The PXG  7 hybrid lie is 60.5 deg.

Ultimately hoping PXG comes out with 8, 9 hybrids at some point with more agreeable lie angles (agreeable to me anyway)

I don't need #8 or #9 hybrids just yet.  But figure at my age they might be good idea a few years down the road.  But there is just too big a gap between those lie angles.
