Anyone playing Eleven Golf Hybrids?

I have the PXG Black Ops 4-7 hybrid.  Love em.  Been toying with trying the Eleven 8 hybrid.  But the lie on the Eleven 8 hybrid is 63 deg.  The PXG  7 hybrid lie is 60.5 deg.

Ultimately hoping PXG comes out with 8, 9 hybrids at some point with more agreeable lie angles (agreeable to me anyway)

I don't need #8 or #9 hybrids just yet.  But figure at my age they might be good idea a few years down the road.  But there is just too big a gap between those lie angles.

Maybe its the Shaft Length.

A Lie 63 deg. is Standard for an 8 Iron.

A Lie 60,5 deg. is Standard for an 4 Iron with an 38.5 or 39 Inch Shaft.

The Eleven Hybrids are build with nearly Iron Shaft Lenght.

Hybrids are 1 to 2 Inch longer, so the Lie is flatter.

Oh yes.  I understand all of this.  I guess, in my post,  I was just expressing my frustration the 2 companies did not have matching/corresponding specs.  lol...  As I said,  I don't need the 8 and 9 just yet.  Perhaps sooner than later I'll see PXG or whoever come out with what I need.  Shame ya just can't bend/adjust lies in these hybrids.

further to this.

I have the 8 hybrid.  They must measure the lie using the score lines, which are more upright than the actual sole of the club.  Here is a shot of my measurement of the 8, with the sole flat.  It's not upright, that's for sure.  If anything I wish it were a bit more up.  I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I have the PW , 8 and 9. Looking to now get a 9 - 5 in stiff flex but i fear they're not upright enough for me. I'm 6ft 34.5' wrist to floor but i stand fairly upright on my swing. Its difficult for me to be in the address position with the club sitting nice and flat, often it feels like i'm pushing the toe into the ground. I had a look at the bottom of the clubs and i can see from the wear pattern as the club gets longer the wear becomes more centre. Would going half inch longer on all the clubs help with this?

It would help a little.

I had a 7 that was VERY flat.  I bought it used from a forum member so I could not return it.  I sold it on eBay.  It was only a sample of 1, but I'm suggesting that if you order, contact them first and ask if they can assure you that your clubs will be not be flatter than spec.  If/when I order a 7, I'm going to insist on that.

Can any USA customers share their experience on the import duties, etc? I was thinking about buying the 3-6 hybrids but their website is kind of scaring me with this comment about how the customer is responsible for them. I can’t remember if it was on a YouTube video or what but somebody said these essentially double the price of the hybrids and don’t buy if you are in the USA etc etc

Unrelated but can someone also comment on how these sit at address? I hate when hybrids look hooded/shut.

No problem with buying them just put the dollar setting to get American price . I believe they have a 25 dollar shipping. Not playing those numbers but the 8 thru P play more shut than square.

Driver: Callaway Epic Flash 10.5

FW:      Callaway Epic Flash 3&5
Hybrids: 4-5 Epic Flash
               6-7 Big Bertha

 Irons :    Mizuno Hot Metal 921 8-GW

I bought 2 clubs. It was $31 US total for shipping. Each club was $112 US.

I don’t think customs charges come into play below $800.  I’ll find out soon.  Mine should be shipping any day now.  I ordered 5-Pw.  I wouldn’t expect anything over 6.5%, so probably $50 or less if anything.

Competitive play is not until April so I’ll have time to get used to them.  I’m going to Florida for a golfing week in February and another in South Carolina in March.  Should have lots of rounds in before mid-April.

Do you think the Cleveland halo full face irons are better than eleven hybrids in terms of feel and play ability?

If you have played both which would stay in your bag?

I have been playing the Launcher HB's for 2+ yrs. I bought the Eleven 7 and PW last summer. They took a little bit to get used to being a full hybrid. I like them but am hesitant to get a full set. I feel dispersion is similar but could be better. They launched noticeably higher and spun more(500+ RPM). BUT, i lost about 10+yards of distance. The loft is only 1* weaker. I'm tempted though. Feel wise I like the Cleveland irons because they feel more like an iron.

I went ahead and ordered the #8.  Ordered to 1/2 inch over standard.  I am a wee bit nervous about the lie angle but ChaosThoery's post above made me want to take a chance.  If it arrives looking good I will go ahead and get the #9 as well.

Going this route of accepting my limitations brought about by advancing age,  I suppose velcro fastening shoes are in order.

So how's it working?

Different than my other #6 hybrids but not really better.  The default flight still seems to be a bit of a push-fade.  Which would be because of the flatter lies.  It's not as flat as the 7H that you and I tried, though.

The KBS TGI shaft is pretty solid feeling, even in the 60 gram flex.  Not sure it's a match for me, I tend to like some flex feel.  Although the 8H with the 70 gram shaft is money for me.  But, shorter club, so....

I have been weathered out of playing for about 3 weeks, and hope to get back out soon for more tries with it.

As a guy whose 7* is usually at or around 64* lie angle, sounds like these hybrids would never work for me.

Probably right, especially since they are almost iron length.

So if you find a similar almost iron length hybrid set that are a little more upright, let me know! 🙂

All other GI hybrids I’ve found are long, light, and probably too upright.  And often draw biased in face angle or weighting or both.

I just saw a tech review of the new Ping G440 hybrids.  They go all the way to 34 degrees,  but the 30 and 34 are designed to be draw biased.  The search for neutral 6 and 7 hybrids continues for me.

I've had some success with Cleveland Halo's.

They can be built to your desired specs relative to flatter or more upright lies.

I'm still experimenting with SGI irons.

Right now I'm fooling around with a set of Callaway Elyte X's.

I have a full bag of these hybrids , I’m a 13 handicapper and absolutely love them love them . I not sure what the position is if you wanted to use these in the weekly medal or society completions as for the life of me I can’t seem to find out if they are conforming clubs ??
can anyone advise me what I can do to use these in comps etc etc.

I have the Eleven 5-P and have played several rounds with the Halo FF.  In my opinion, no contest - Halo all the way.  Softer, better feel, better distances, etc.  That’s based on a 70mph 7i and 70 year old swing.

Why wouldn't they be conforming?

Also, I chipped with it from fringes and light rough around greens.  Cheat code.  I holed one out from 60 feet.

If I can find a 9 or PW or something I think I'm going to pick one up for exactly this.

TBH I'd never heard of Eleven Golf before this morning when I was doing a search on full hybrid sets, but of course GolfWRX has a multipage thread lol
