Cleveland UHX Irons

A few years ago, Cleveland brought out the UHX irons.  GI to SGI.  Did anyone play them?  Is anyone still playing them?  For those who might have played them, why did you move to something else?  Thanks in advance for your comments.

I still play them. They are very forgiving without looking to big or having a huge topline. If you make a good stroke with them they go the same distance time after time and cover all the distance gaps you might have. These are the first irons I've had where I can actually hit the 4 iron and the 5 iron. Not to mention they feel great on center strikes. They are very cheap at the moment and they are well worth every penny. Good Luck to you...

I had them. They are a very good GI iron. 
The lofts are strong but less so than most manufacturers’ recent GI irons.
Good ball speeds. Nice high trajectory. 
I moved away from them for no good reason. They are user friendly. 
Some people don’t like the V sole. 
They are similar to the Srixon ZX4 in shape but I think a little thicker and a little longer blade length. 
The longer irons are hollow body and are really easy to launch. 
Offset is moderate for a GI iron. 
Right now, you can buy them at a steep discount. They are a good buy.

I played the 4I and 5I for a while and got along with them quite well.  The rest of the set were Ping i525's from 6I to PW.  I did try them when they first came out and thought they were quite good, just didn't end up pulling the trigger on them until i found the 4 and 5 for a great price.  I have moved on to hybrids now for these 2, but they still sit in the garage waiting to be pulled out again when i feel like it.

I had them and liked them. I was losing distance which I equated to total weight and sold them to move onto Cleveland HB Turbo irons with graphite shafts. I was hoping the lighter overall weight might help with swing speed. Bad experiment, I couldn't 'feel' the club in my backswing, so accuracy and confidence went out the window. I am experimenting now mid 90 gram steel shafts in an old Ping G2 set and TT Elevate 95's in a GI component head. I really liked the looks, it is an SGI head that doesn't have the hybrid head look, if you know what I mean. They are strong lofts, but a cool design is the loft numbers stamped on the bottom along with the iron number. The are a bit of a poor man's Srixon ZX4 (Srixon owns Cleveland).

I played them for over 2 years. I went from a high 20s to a 14 or so with them. I switched to the previous gen Srixon ZX5 irons earlier this year as my teenage son graduated to adult length clubs so I decided to treat myself. I also was getting a little bit of the case of the lefts with them as my swing improved I assume due to the offset..not sure really why. 
 

I loved them and could play them again if my son started to take the game a bit more seriously as his swing is beautiful and he doesn’t need the help the UHX irons provide. I used to let my buddies at the range try them when they were in a funk with whatever they had and they all commented how easy they were to hit. 
 

Cleveland is criminally underrated and if people want GI or SGI clubs to play with at a great price then they shouldn’t overlook the brand.

I play the 4 iron as my utility club ... It's great. Long, easy to launch, does everything i want it to do.

I tried one as a utility club, just too much offset and hook bias for my swing.....

It's odd ... every hybrid I touch is a hook machine, but the UHX just works for me. It replaced a 718 AP3 3-iron in my bag.
