Mizuno is making great stuff and with the driver releases this year in my opinion all meh there is a real opportunity out there for this max version to shine. Even the max fairways with the 7 wood option is great news

I agree on the “meh” thing. In all the YouTube reviews, I’m not seeing anything that really is worth a $600.00 change this year. I would like to see the ST230 Max though.

The entire Max line has my attention. Everything I have learned about the line sounds like a tremendous fit for my game. My best golf was played when every club in my bag had more spin built into its design. I stupidly chase distance by picking low spin driver, fairways and hybrids that either fell out of the sky or curved wildly. This year is my year to correct my equipment mistakes and Mizuno Max are getting a long look from me.

The ST Max back weight is 54 grams which compared to the 28 gram back weight of the Ping G430 Max is a huge difference. And that driver is over 10k MOI. Think about that for a second.

I like that the circular weight is light and its housing is heavy. I’m going to test the Max at stock length of 45.5” and 45” to see what tests better. Swapping out the standard 8.5G weight for an 11G will get me real close to my preferred SW.

I am thinking about that - but I have no idea what 54 grams is anyway.... is it heavier than a paper clip or a potato ??

Where can you buy the weights from? And wondering if Mizzy will add a heavier weight like TM does with a custom order if you go shorter?

I’m told they don’t offer heavier OEM weights. But there’s alway Shaft Connects weights.

I’m really wanting to demo the ST Max before making a decision. I’ve hit all of the coming options and so far I’m only impressed with the G430 Max 10k.

I’ve been testing an stz 230 and have been very impressed.  Reminds me a lot of tsi3 but a little more stable and a touch more forgiving.  Maybe not quite as fast in ball speed indoors, but it’s so damn playable.  Plenty fast, but the look, feel and sound are all outstanding!

 

Really curious to test the max against the 230, but the 230 is so good not sure it will be worth a change.

You wonder if the max will spin more vs the 230.  This is what happened to the TM 10k max.  It seems to spin more unlike the Ping 10k Max which seems to have magical pixie dust and is spinning less than the existing Max per reviews posted.

In their podcast, Vosh mentioned slightly higher spin than 230, but not as much higher as someone might expect. So no magic pixie dust, but no +600rpm either

I really liked the ST-Z 230, but felt I needed a little more spin, and forgiveness to make it work for me. The Max sounds like it may be the answer to what I was wanting. We'll see if it can knock my Rogue ST Max out of the number one slot. Fingers crossed as the Mizuno ST Max 230 is the only new release that I am really interested in.

That’s interesting because I find the 230 to spin consistently around 2400-2600 for me, which is right where I like to be with driver.  I’m not a big fan of the 1900-2100 spinning heads.  That’s why we test, different strokes for different folks.

 

Curious to hear your feedback once you test it against your rogue st max.  That st max is super stable and forgiving.

It may be the way that I swing the driver that leads to a lower flight than I am comfortable with. I have always had issues with getting a optimum ball flight out of my driver. The Callaway Rogue ST Max helps quite a bit. Just hoping that the new Mizuno ST Max 230 is a little better if nothing more than I love the looks, and want a new driver for this year.

I had all sorts of issues with my driver launching too low and then I got told about TEES - making a real difference.

Went for a full bag fitting yesterday, came away with the ST-Z outperforming the Ping 10K, Titleist and Darkspeed.  Wonder if I should have waited to try the Max....
