Best Practice Facility in Scottsdale Area

Headed out for 7 days next week for a work, then personal trip that includes 4 rounds of golf. Was planning on playing TPC on Monday, but my work plans changed so I don’t have time to get a full round in. Anyone have any recommendations on best public practice facility in the area to spend a couple hours at?

Cost-wise, none.

But if you are willing to pay, then Grayhawk, Kierland, Wildfire are probably the better of the bunch.

TPC, Talking Stick and Camelback next. Then McCormick.

For the life of me I will never understand how a world class facility like Troon North has a range that faces the rising sun in the AM

I would add Wekopa as a solid practice area

Greyhawk, TPC Stadium, and Kierland all said their practice facility is not open to non playing guests.

Hilarious! I was thinking TPC Champions, not Stadium - but they are prob doing the same there too.

Champs has the champions tour Q school this week so that's why they're closed. I think it's normally something egregious like $80 to use the range though.

Public practice facilities are tough in Scottsdale. McDowell Mountain is your best bet, last I was there it was $20 for a large bucket, and they have a good sized chipping green and a separate putting green. I often go there on my lunch breaks.

Even though I work for Troon Corp I still cant use the range at Kierland or North unless I have a tee time 🙃

I think the decent thing about McDowell is if you just pull up and use the practice greens/bunkers they typically don't care. At least I've never had anyone ask me to pay when I drop by.

Out of curiosity, what're the best practice facilities period in the area (public or private)? I've drooled over pictures of the ASU facility at Papago.

Whisper Rock and Scottsdale National. ASU is awesome too since it has indoor and outdoor with a short course tied in. I also like Superstition Mountain.

thanks for the info. I’ve been searching for a good short game facility that doesn’t charge $40 to use.
