Thank you to @T308 and @StoutKing for the amendments (I had a few of the correctly amended ones in the coloured version at the top of the previous page then mistakenly republished an older version again!). This list now reflects the corrections offered I *think*. If you would be willing to send me your list going way back @T308 then that would be wonderful (or even post it here if you like as it sounds like a great resource - did you already have Hal Sutton's 83 flatstick, by the way? I had to ask him directly!). I am still not 100% sure on Mahaffey in 78.

He is a guy whose company paid a lot of money for pros to use his putters, just like every other brand since about the 1990s.  These guys can putt with anything and will play whomever is sponsoring them, with a few notable exceptions.

 

I hope that nobody think that this list is indicative of what a player would choose if there were no sponsorship money involved.

Wow great work @ColinKelvin! That must have taken some effort but what an interesting read. Thanks for compiling it. There don't seem to be that many multiple major winners that won majors across more than 5 years that stuck with the same putter. I could only see Seve and Tiger.

Thanks! And yes, always lots of switching going on.  Nick Price even won 3 majors in 3 years with 3 different models!  Maybe Xander will buck that trend if he keeps winning.

 

Few things I have noticed - blade/8802 and Bullseye shapes have all but disappeared these days - it's almost all Anser heads or mallets of various shapes now.  And, putter names are getting stupidly long.
