Superbowl vs golf

The last two years I've skipped watching the big game to go out for a round of golf.  By February I'm sick of football and it's hard to pass up an empty golf course, especially on a weekend.  Anyone else feel this way?

Why not both?  The kickoff time is 6:30PM EDT on February 11, 2024.

I will do something versus watching someone else do something every day and twice on Sunday.

Even on the west coast, you should have plenty of time to do both if you start early.

The Super Bowl comes on in the evening. If the weather is nice I do both. If I had to choose I would choose the SB. It's once a year. I can play golf plenty of other days. I don't mind missing regular Sunday football. I used to love going out on Sunday around noon and playing because the course would be empty. Now that the guys and I can play any day we are all part of the watch Sunday football group unless I play alone.

I'm a NY Football Giants fan so the Super Bowl is of no interest for me.

I'm on the west coast, and I usually play twilight. I usually end up catching the very end of the game.

I seldom watch Football, only certain games these days, even if the Wolverines are playing.  I play golf and stream record everything I am interested in seeing, then watch the recording later that day, evening or another day/time. 

 

Also, I don't use my iPhone during golf either, and tell everyone I am playing with to keep football results to themselves; I do NOT want to hear it, I am recording.  Unfortunately, too many people can't keep their yaps shut, it's no wonder they play hack golf. LOL

A 6:30 eastern kickoff would be 3:30 west coast, so would’t you miss the first half/3 quarters if you finished at sunset?

My favorite time to golf in Wisconsin is in Fall during a Packer game.

DVR was invented a long time ago. 

 

I prefer to watch all sporting events on delay, no matter what the stakes are, just so I can fast forward through the commercials, timeouts, and needless commentary between actual action in the game (including the SB halftime show).

That was my first thought. I'm on the east coast. Sunset right now is, like 4:30. If I tee off any later than noon I risk not finishing 18. True that the days will be starting to get longer in February, but really, I'll have zero golf/SB time conflicts, nor should the Central time zone and a lot of the Mountain time zone. 

 

Those strange people in California may have some issues, but they have issues with pretty much everything ... 😅

Same.  The nice thing is, the course is pretty empty later on during the day on Super Bowl Sunday so I always book a tee time for that day.

I’m from DC area and now live in North Carolina. Very hard to be a football fan for either team. 
 

Halfway convinced there are a couple Charlotte area high school football teams that could keep a close game with the Panthers. 
 

To the OP’s question: I agree. Although the only reason I watch the SB is we either host a party or go to one.
