Anyone know what weights are available and does Forward sell the weights separately ?  I love my Edel SMS and SMS Pro and bought 8-packs of 4,6,8,10g weights to dial in my swing-weight in an MOI build with shorter length increments.  Great to see others offering similar designs, and the Forwards look really good too.  👍

Yes the weights are available.  have most weights in two color options.  Since i couldn't get use to the midsize grip suggested in my prescription when it came to putting them on my wedges and woods, I opted to go back to my MCC +4's in which i swapped out the two center weights with a now 11 gram lighter grip to keep swing weight in line with original setup up prescribed.

Complete game changer for me. I am around a 2-4 handicap at age 56 years old depending on aches and pains that day. 😂 Went in with open mind and my prescription is like nothing i could of dreamed up or imagined. Been playing TC201’s and T150’s with Axiom105S’s.

When it was all said and done they gave me a list of OEM big brand heads that would “work” as well as Forward heads. I went Forward heads

This is my off the wall Script:

low bounce heads,

Steelfiber 80 Regular shafts at 3/4” over with 12 gram counter weight tour locks

mid size grips

3* flat lie

C6 swing weight

traditional lofts, based off 46* PW

Playing some of my best golf in years. This is the end result. This is 7 shots with an 8 iron, not one swing. That consistent ball striking is insane.

The suggested OEM "Low Bounce Heads" that would work in my application were T100's, Mizzy 241's, Taylormade 7MC's and one other i forgot off the top of my head.  All would work, would just have to adjust counter weights based on actual head weights to dial in that Swing weight, and total weight variable. In essence doing an old school Blueprint build.

I liked the adjustable screws on the Forward heads in the long run as Forward golf are not a big fan of TIP weights on dialing swing weight in builds as to where that weight is placed. Plus i am a club builder and if swing starts to change easy for me to adjust if needed.

I need exactly what you need "head wise"... Are the foreward soles thicker than than those you mentioned above? What is the stock lofts of the heads? I want a set please keep me updated on here congrats...

Similar, nice thin topline and soles. My lofts are 46,42,38,34,30,27,24. Originally only went 5-PW. But hit the 5 so good i ditched the hybrid and added 4 iron after a month and put a 7 wood in play to close gap on 3 wood.

Did my fitting earlier today and man it was an experience.  I would say it is nothing like a fitting you are going to get at any of the big box retailers or club fitters.

In the last couple of years I've played px6.0, modus 120X, $ taper 130, modus 125S and tried countless other shafts in fittings and on my own.  I had been moving towards LA golf L series based on the" best" launch monitor numbers for total carry, but probably didn't care that much about face consistency and dispersion vs target.

I haven't played a ton recently so my ball speed was for sure down from what I am used to playing or doing fittings, although this in and of itself was illuminating to me in terms of how you are supposed to play golf (consistency to target, not juicing another 5 yards of carry or 3mpg more of ballspeed)  During the fitting, my ball speed on "Tiger strikes" was around 120, and stuff missing or in suboptimal set ups was 115-118.

The two best shafts for me turned out to be DG 105 R and Axiom 105S.  Obviously very very different than what I had been playing and trying to work through.   The last fitting I did off grass, I was cruising around 92mph CHS and 127 ball speed with a 7 iron.  When I step on it, I can get into high 90s CHS and 130+.  The interesting thing was at the end because he had these two shafts to compare head to head, I wanted to see how it would stand up to really going at it.  I figured there was no chance the DG 105 R would stay consistent with a more aggressive swing.  Much to my surprise not only did it continue to perform the best, it easily outperformed the Axiom 105.  I also found it interesting that I had previously tried the Axiom 125X at a fitting a year ago and hated it.  The best performing shafts in that fitting (smash, ball speed, carry) was LA golf L series.

My miss has always heel side and after "upgrading" to my last set of irons struggled with an over draw.  Without getting too much into the different variables, it was truly eye opening to see the heel strike disappear and even wind up with consistent strikes toe side of center during one of the tests.

I really enjoyed that fact that you can't see the ball flight the way they do the fitting, because you just think about making your swing, instead of trying to tweak your swing based on what you saw just happen. Probably useful for playing real rounds

Finally, it required a bit of getting used to what a Tiger Strike feels like.  I used to crave the soft buttery feel of what I thought was a nutted iron.  Turns out that was a bit too high on the face so awesome to have Chad letting you know what you want for optimal strikes.

I wound up going full send with one of their sets of irons and excited to see how they perform.

Both Dan and Chad are awesome and have said that the difference between the remote fitting vs in studio is pretty negligible.  I think if you are close by or want to make the pilgrimage then 100% go do it.  If you think your swing is pretty consistent, and now want something that can compliment your swing instead of trying to make continued improvements I would highly recommend the remote option.

Will hopefully report back once the clubs arrive and have some time to get them out on the course.

Feel free to ask any questions.

What was the change that got you away from the heel strikes? Flat lie? shorter length? both? or something else...

Had to be the total combination. Not anyone thing. Went from standard lie to 3 flat, went from standard length to 1/2” over. Went from D2 swing weight to C6. Went from 105 gram shafts to 80

gram. Went from standard grips to midsize. If you peep his IG page and watch some of his posts will see it is a total fitting process. Not a singular move.

Now at 4 for 4 on people that went for fitting after seeing my results and now have the best set of their life in their bag. One was not Forward heads. Mizzy 243 was hit best fitting head sole bounce wise. Which is a tweener between a low and mid bounce head. Mizuno has migrated to more mid bounce soles from prior low bounce im prior generations.

Also intrigued at how the costs rack up post buying the heads...are all the shafts an upcharge or are there any that are just 'stock' as such? Wouldn't be a deal breaker but nice knowing roughly what you're paying, I did a fitting with a major OEM last year who just so happened to fit me between two of their most expensive upcharged iron shafts. I'm usually a DG X100 man but playing a borrowed set of i210's with Modus 120x's at the moment, which feel fine but prefer the X100. Can't say I've ever been upcharged for X100's so wondering whether they are an extra cost with Foreward, if they are the right shafts that is...

I went through the remote fitting, I did gain some knowledge. I was on the right track with shafts and lie angles. Based on the fitting results, it shows that I strike the ball much better with a higher bounce iron head than i currently play. I kind of knew this based on my current wedge setup, with hitting full shots with higher bounce wedge heads better.

The way it was explained to me and the iron quote I was provided, Each item is a la carte. Each item has a cost - Head, shaft, ferrule, grip, and build fee.

Thanks for the insight! I thought that would be the case so I can imagine by the time the set is complete it's a hefty cost as compared to the $160-$200 head cost. I know they do sell the heads on their own but that kind of debunks the point of the fitting process etc, but I've got two pristine pulled sets of DG X100's here I can use if needed. I'm intrigued and will have to find a way to do the fitting process soon I think!

It is ala cart, but to give you an example, buddy was fit int a set of 4-PW and surprisingly Dynamic Golf 105S was was bet for him.  He was mid bounce, those shafts, with BF&F ferrules, and Jumbo Max XL grips, labor and all was $1320.  So most common stock shafts are around that.  You get into high end graphite, obviously goes up.  Know another guy that got fit into the new TPT prototypes.  Those are $290 a shaft.  So looking at $2K in shafts

If you have Instagram, I’d recommend messaging them on there. They’re happy to chat and talk about your game or alternatively give them a call. I’ve really struggled to find irons to replace my PXG 0311T Gen3’s and they’ve talked through a few ideas and options, I’m in Europe at the moment so don’t have the capability to do the test but will try and do it when I get over to Canada next year!

Thanks again- really helpful info! $1320 is really good for a top to bottom custom fit and build to be honest so that’s good. I’m a plain old black ferrule guy, I get put off by these colourful ones 😂 those TPT’s look wild but that’s silly money for marginal gains if you ask me, similar (obviously more money) to the Axiom’s I tested and was being pushed towards elsewhere. I’d most likely be in for a 5-PW set as I love my ZU85 4 iron, it’s a cheat club for the tight, tree lined courses over here!

It is pretty cool as they give you options.  They say OK, you are low bounce head, the Forward Golf heads with such and such weight plugs will obviously work, you can also use T100's, Mizzy 241, etc....

When they get into the shafts portion of fitting, they have 8 of their own proprietary shafts that usually hit 80% of the masses.  But there are some higher end and exotic shafts.  For me personally, I needed a much higher kick point, so i got fit for Steelfibers which i have never been a fan, but built right feel incredible now.  My prior gamers were T150's with Axioms, and when I did the fitting the Axioms were not a good fit when all said and done.  So was shocked as i thought i loved Axioms, LOL

Know another guy that was fit into the TPT's, but they did option out two other shafts that "Would work" and still see massive improvements when combines with all the other fitting metrics as the cost doesn't justify the gains.

I watched one of the YouTube fitting videos they did with a young lad and as you say, they point him towards options from OEM’s but the kid was desperate for the champagne finish heads they produce. Really good stuff.

I honestly didn’t feel or notice anything special with the Axiom’s, hence why it was annoying me that I was being very much forced into them. I love the feeling of an X100, so stable but they give a nice bit of kick. I love being able to go fairly hard at my irons.

That’s good to know though that they don’t just push you towards the most expensive options all the time 👍🏼 really hoping I can manage to get this done when I’m in Canada early next year!

I watched the videos.  It’s a very sensible system.  I could disagree with the length protocol, but in the big picture that wouldn’t matter. I would love to get fitted that way.  I wonder if they have anyone in DFW?

Also, a person could pretty easily build a single length set using their heads, what with 24 grams, more if you include a tip weight, of discretionary weight.  So that’s cool!

Anyone want to give examples of well known irons that are low, mid, and high bounce?  I might want to sample some for that particular parameter.  I think I need medium but it’d be good to test.  I play low bounce (Maltby) and my strikes are living higher on the face than a Tiger strike.  But things change when we get dormant winter conditions.  I probably need a summer set and a winter set.
