Anti Club Tangle Carry Bag? Does it exist?

Let’s start by saying I am for sure on the OCD end of the spectrum. I hate disorder and cringe at things like club tangle. I’m on the hunt for a great carry bag (for 9 holes) that also doubles well in my SM push cart (for 18). I love Ping bags and have since the OG L8 days but find that new Ping bags all suffer from unreal club tangle. Cringe. Who has a fave?

Looks like it's a rebranded Sun Mountain 2.5

100%. Just picked up a SM3.5. OMG. It’s perfect. The flat bottom that is not effected by the stand mech makes it sooooo satisfyingly tangle free.

No tangle with a 2.5+ either.

Yep, been using versions of the 2.5 for years - great bags.

 

Tangle issues?  LOL, I can't discuss that without sticking my pinky out while drinking tea.

It is a similar footprint to a 2.5, but weighs much more like a 3.5.

Did the OP ever figure this out? I’m currently considering the G/Fore Parachute, Sun Mountain 3.5 SL, or ‘24 Sun Mountain 2.5. I am very sensitive to club tangle too. Have a ‘25 Hyperlite Zero that is probably going back. Even though I got the strap situation resolved.

The G/fore Circle G's (if you can find it) is a no-tangle bag.

Isn't that just a SM 2.5 with the 3.5 strap?  If so, I can get a 2.5 and change the strap.

Almost never mentioned when club tangle comes up is that it's greatly dependent on how much stuff you have in the other pockets down low where the grips are. With jackets, 20 balls, eyeglass cases, gloves, hats, snack bars and sunscreen bottles all settling down low, the grips will get jammed up no matter if you have full dividers or not. Sure, a dedicated cart bag or staff bag (!) are less affected by this, but my club tangle goes way down in the summer when I've got a lot less stuff in the bag to tote around.

Agree with this.  If at all possible I try to store everything in the pockets high on the bag.  I only use the bottom storage if absolutely necessary and only for soft goods like a rain pull over.
