Callaway AI Smoke Triple Diamond MAX?

Anyone got any insight if there will be a retail version of the currently Tour Only, AI Smoke triple diamond Max?  Hit a guy's on staff with Callaway and thing is ridiculous. Saw zero gains or improvements on AI Smoke triple diamond versus Paradym triple diamond, but this TD Max was 3-4mph ball speed wise faster with no gain in club head speed.  Some kind of sorcery going on there.

I’ve sold plenty of Taylormade tour gear over the years. Have an idea where they fall price wise.

Ask @Peoples Golf...he may be able to get one at some.point.

Actually great idea. I have sold him tour issue stuff waaaaay back in the day. Forgot about him as had other more cost effective connections. But my main one went Titleist now.

I remember I saw someone ask about this head coming to the public in one of Johnny Wunders AMA's on instagram. He said "maybe, maybe not" . Maybe he was just bored or maybe they'll come out in limited quantities later in the year? Taylormade releasing some tour clubs was successful Id say, maybe they will give it a try with that head. I really wish I can get my hands on that club. Seems to be the most used tour head so far.

Yep... Adjustable, more forgiving, low spin, fast, with decent MOI. sign me up.  TD Smoke I'm currently gaming is pretty Fn good tho. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s a bit counterintuitive that Tour guys have access to a more forgiving low spin model than the general public, I understand when it happens the other way round.

Sometimes we just gotta say it, Callaway sucks.  They do this and it's like a smelly rotting fruit.   You know it was good, but now it just stinks

Or like the tour only bonded fairway metals. Things are actually cheaper to make with no adjustable hosels but only a tour offering.

The TD Max head seems similar to the Rogue Max LS head recently. That seemed to be very successful I think so kind of a head-scratcher why this head isn't available to us. Even if it's just through custom order only. I can see it being very popular.

I could see Callaway releasing this later in the year or as a special edition next year - there is already buzz building around it, would be dumb to not try and capture some of that demand.

Like what Fowler did with that hideous Jailbird putter that was a flop and probably had warehouses full of them. Extend it to 39" and slap a $400 price tag and sold like hotcakes.

I am about to order a new driver and torn between the ai max and triple diamond. Was leaning triple d until I saw the club champion vid today where Ian is leaning towards the Max

The TD Max is just another iteration of the old Mavrik Max Single Diamond tour-only model. CPO actually had 1 left in stock in 8.5*

 

450CC, neutral bias, taller face like a TD, but a little more stretched back for slightly more MOI. Obviously tweaks here and there due to the weight distribution and chassis difference.

 

The MOI difference is only to the tune of several hundred points if that at all.

 

You would need to be really pedantic to NEED this model. Current comps (10cc more) that are easily available and very similar are the Max LS models and the Paradym standard 'tour only' front weight model from last year....or just find a Mavrik Max Single Diamond TC on ebay for $200. The only thing you're exchanging between all these is the 10CC of volume and face height. Marginal differences in adjustability and F/D bias.

Well my gamer is ParadymTD with Velo Black. AI Smoke TDMax was 3-4mph ball speeds faster over 20 shots. 10-12 yards for me is worth it.

Supposedly it’s closer to 460cc and higher spin than the std TD
