Bryson’s new Avoda irons

They look like hollow irons. Similar to SUB70 and the direct to consumer brands

If only the equipment could keep up with that dude's ego - he'd win all the time. 

But, we can't deny the genius. Bryson is, independently and before our eyes, changing the game into his own weird, myopic, and unappealing vision.  

He reminds me of a similar vagabond, a man determined to change how golf was played, our good friend Sir Ryan Moore. He remade the game in his own image and met with similar hostility...

 

But let's get some perspective here...

 

I mean, we all made fun of that guy at the time...But, for many of us, this has become our "go-to" style on the golf course every Saturday. I've got a closet full of ties. Let's be real. 

History is often unkind to revolutionaries. But believe me, we will remember this moment. We will do so as we all pull really weird, ugly, greatly misshapen one-length irons out of our bags over the next twenty years.

I can honestly say I never once made fun of Ryan. I always thought it was cool that he marched to the beat of his own drum. Too many “drones’ on tour. And any issues I have w/bryson have nothing to do with his equipment or “revolutionary-ism”. Nor is LIV the main issue. Think about not accepting rulings, “ant hills”, blaming drivers, ridiculous comments regarding things that we still can not speak 🙊. And it’s not hate, just an opinion and someone rubbing me the wrong way. It happens in life 🤷🏼‍♂️

I can't tell if you're trolling or not, so bravo 

 

But a lot of the hostility Bryson receives about this gear is largely do to the fact that he's out there just making up this own equipment terminology. He plays a 9* mini driver as a "3 wood", has a 13* "5 wood", and a 17* "5 iron".

the combo idea is interesting.  basically a 5 iron length 3 iron as a '4' then 1/2 inch down at 4 degree gaps until you hit the 9 iron which keeps 36" through lw with 5 degree gaps.  10 clubs covering the same distance range as 11 in a traditional set?

Well no 💩 that isn't the reason.

 

Definitely going to be $$$ related I bet, why go from an engineering company that made a 1 off set of irons for you to a DTC brand who probably outsources their heads. Who at the same time probably cannot manufacture heads on demand which I'm sure Byrson requests often unless this DTC brand has a CNC shop at their fingertips.

36" lw - 8, then 7i is 36.5", increasing by .5" per club through 4i (38").

I was talking to one of the reps at the company they are new as of last year.
