OG Ventus Blue 6S to TR 5S / Tipping

Long played the OG Ventus Blue 6S.  Want to try something a little lighter, so going to give the TR 5S a shot.  I have hit the TR 6S before and it felt good.  Should i consider tipping the TR 5S at all, maybe a half inch?  I've had shafts that when you go down in weight, they can get loose, was hoping the TR would keep some of that rigidity, but have not hit it in that weight before.  I do play my driver length a little short 44.5", so some extra head weight.

 

Anyone with any insight?

Dropping down in weight is very iffy especially since you're playing shorter than standard length.  It can either really mess with your swing making things worse contact and dispersion wise or it can increase ss and ball speed without affecting the things I mentioned provided that you compensate by adding weight to the head.  It's not something I would do without testing the lighter shaft first.

I’ve tested upper 50gram and played them before. Played all last year with a ZF 50 stiff untipped. I liked it but was a little loose feeling. Went back to the old faithful OG blue 6S. The lighter weight is something I like, just wondering if the TR Blue 5S will be significantly softer than the TR 6S and if so, would tipping a little help.

Lighter version will in most cases be softer.  Tipping will affect feel and can also drop spin.
