Fujikura Motore Speeder VC Tour Spec Comparisons

The old Motore Speeder really did it for me. So much so that we're 12 years post release, and I have yet to find a shaft that gives me the same results. Their website shows the current offering comparison to the Atmos Black tour spec. I have hit it and like it. It's not bad by any means, it just isn't quite the same for me. I know JT tried to go back to this gem a recently as 2 years ago so I have a worry that it is one of the unicorn types. 

 

Does anyone have comparisons to this old beast that match up to it? 

 

For reference I currently swing driver around 121 mph and when I played this shaft I played a 7x in driver and 8x in FW. I played those when I was younger so I may hop the weight categories down one for each now. My miss is left. Current gamer is an ACCRA TZ5 M5 65

PS. I have looked for this on WRX before and haven't found anything myself, but if you know a thread already around for this please point me in that direction!

Still using 7.2s and 8.2s. I’ve tried a lot but these just work so they stay.

The old Aldila NV 75X and the Mitsubishi Chemical Tensei CK Pro 80 Orange X are identical in bend profile to the VC 7.2X Tour Spec.

I think I’ve seen in a post on the Ventus TR that the TR Blue is similar to the .2

I have the VC  7.2x in a G400max. I switched to this setup last year, drove the ball great, and like an idiot moved away from it. Went back to it a couple weeks ago and it is phenomenal. I love that shaft so much. Like you I’ve been interested in snatching an atmos if I can’t find a spare. Which I haven’t. Truly a great shaft. JT agrees too.

Look at what I'm gaming in my Stealth 2 Plus 3 Wood. Tour Van Motore VC 8.1 the best 3 wood shaft I have ever hit.

It is just as long as everything out there, launches high, & feels amazing.  I never thought the atmos line was anything close to the VC line.  The Atmos line had zero feel IMO...I tried the Black in a driver, Blue 8 in a fairway, & the Folds 7 (7.3 like) & none of them worked.

 I wish my young self would have never gotten rid of mine lol. Been hunting ebay and have found some luckily, but they're not always in the greatest shape it seems.

Interesting, I have never tried either of these. might have to see what I can find.

Crazy this thread just started a few days ago. My buddy texted me today and asked if I wanted this shaft that was one of his Uncle’s old Titleist shafts and he knows I exclusively play Titleist and I said sure I’ll check it out. Lo and behold it was the Fujikura Motore Speeder VC 7.2 TS in x flex. For back story I already played most of last season with the Atmos Black Tour Spec 7x and really liked the shaft and could hit it very straight but just felt like it could be too much at times especially later on in the rounds and lacked very much feel. I got the shaft from him and hit a few balls with them that were absolutely rocketed dead straight right off the bat and seems to feel better to me than the Atmos did but it is on the heavier side which is what my swing needs I just hope it doesn’t have the same issue as the Atmos did getting to be tough to swing on a really hot summer day playing for hours.

I've was knee deep into trying to find the closest replacement for the motore .2 VC tour spec line. I have a couple of 8.8x for hybrids and an 8.2x for 5w and loved them so I was trying to find the for driver or longer fairways or find a close replacement with more modern tech. I know when fuji was showing modern similars of legacy shafts, they listed the atmos black. If you look at the tip and butt flex that fuji shows, in 7x the black has a butt flex of 69 and tip flex of 82. The motore speeder .2 tour spec is 70/85 so close but not quite the same. If you look at the Atmos Patriot 7x, it's actually 69/85, so almost identical to the .2. For reference, the atmos blue 7x is 72/89 so softer than the others. The Patriot for those that don't know was a limited release that sits between the black and blue. I wonder if since the Patriot was never a major line like the atmos black so fuji didn't list it as the updated similar, but it seems like that could be. Long story short, I've had trouble finding anything better in the driver than the Patriot (and I've tried everything) which thinking about how well I get along with the .2 in hybrid and 5w, not surprising.
