Plumbers neck mallets

In honor of Scotty Scheffler's latest win (could be several different tournaments depending on what week you read this), I'm sure there are many people out there wondering what plumbers neck mallets there are out there and which one is the best?

Obviously there are the My Spider version and the Scheffler Spider Proto, but what are some other options that could compete with these?

There’s a little company out there called “Odyssey”, and their other division, “Toulon”.

you should find a couple of examples there.

Toulon is no longer with Odyssey, they split a few months back.

Toulon's would be a good option. Do they have anything with their crank hosel besides the las vegas? Their new line only has the blade with the plumbers neck on their website.

Favorite plumber's neck mallet of all time is the Cameron Red X5.

 

Toulon has a bunch of great looking mallets with plumber's neck - Portland and Seattle are my favorites.

 

Saw that Bettinardi's new Inovai series has a mini plumber's neck that I would really like to try.

Odyssey CH 7 seems to be a fun option - either the Tri-Hot 5k version or the newest AI-milled version

 

Separately, Toulon Golf has plumber neck version of both the "Las Vegas" model and the new "Alcatraz" model that you might want to check out. The finish is amazing

I have the Odyssey 11 CH and the 7 OG CH in my rotation. Both doing great if you like the Insert. 

I also had the Toulon Seattle but didn‘t like the Head for some reason. To me it looked like some kind of bottle opener at adress.

The new Cleveland HB Soft 2 10.5 has a Plumber Neck and I will definetly give it a roll when I see one in my local store. The same applies for the new Odyssey AI One Two Ball CH. 

In fact I hate that the L-Neck Spider Tour X is only availlable at Taylormade‘s custom program. They should definetly change that, now that this model is getting more attention through Shefflers latest victorys.

By the way… what I definetly also would like to see is a CH-version of Odysseys Versa Three T model.

Edel Golf ARRAY Mallets all can be built with either a long plumbers neck or short plumber neck plus they are 1025 milled carbon steel and choose your alignment options.

The new Toulon has some nice plumber's neck options.  They are premium and on the $$$ side though.

I have 2 Toulon Portland’s, short slant and plumber’s neck, love both.

The Tri Hot 5k 7 CH.  Very forgiving and good looking

I HATE the standard white hot insert, and I didn't want to pay the huge upfront layout for a mallet plumbers neck. Last year sometime I bought a slant neck odyssey with a white microhinge.  I found that distance control was better than the standard white hot.

 

So I cut off the top of the shaft bottom of the slant neck on the used one I purchased. Strapped that bad boy in a vice and bent the stub up to 90*.  I purchased a knuckle neck "kit" from ebay.  I took the shaft portion shortened it to my desired length and then JB Welded the shaft piece on to the head.  Once that was set went back with the aluminum plumber portion and epoxied it in and installed a stroke lab shaft and voila, a "prototype" Knuckle Neck Odyssey #7.  

 

I have trouble aiming blades properly, no matter what neck or alignment aides.  I aim mallets better, but have trouble with aiming double bends, but my stroke suits a double bend better.  So I needed a face balanced, plumber's neck with a topline line and mallet lines behind it.

Anyone know how the MOI/forgiveness of this SIK model would compare with Scotty’s Spider X plumber?

I recently picked up a Bobby Grace The Fat Man off eBay and threw on a long slant neck from GolfWorks. It’s been awesome.
You can fairly easily turn any double bend mallet with a straight borehole into a plumbers neck.

Left field here. Plumbers necks are the most forgiving necks. 
DB- straighter stroke

Plumbers neck- semi arc

Slant neck- more arc 

 

Middle of the road kinda thing. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
