Yes the Tour VT 130 X was so super stout that no tour players played it in their irons as far as I am aware, KBS confirmed that it was easily the stiffest shaft they have ever made and that includes the C-Taper 130 X so it must have at least as stiff as the DG X7 I would reckon, it will be interesting to see how the new V10 compares.

Wonder if it suffered the same tip issues as the c-taper?

@Pnwpingi210 Just had a player test the KBS Tour V10 130. He is over 100 mph on a smooth 7iron. They are as advertised. A stiffer version of the original tour v.  I will admit though that this particular player does not fit well into this profile. He traditionally is more of a DG X100 type shaft.

I had another player (94 mph 7iron) fits well into a  KBS Tour V10 125S+ vs KBS TOUR V 125 S+ profile. The window is slightly lower with the v10, and the ball looks to peak lower as well (more penetrating) as well.

Fun fact: V10 is for the .610 butt section. I was confused on the naming and assumed it was referring the cycles.

I hope this helps!

Is the tip section on the new v10 stiffer?  I’ve played tour v 120,125, and 130.  120 and 125 had a noticeable kick in the lower section of the shaft that would send it left on me.  The 130 didn’t but is more work to swing.  Hoping the lighter version of the v10 have less of that kick ?

Thabks again for providing some insights.

I don’t have measurements. What I can say is that the player who tested KBS Tour V10 125S+ vs KBS Tour V 125 said the Tour V10 felt more stable throughout the shaft/his swing.

Just saw Alrich Potgeiter's WITB from the Utah Championship, and was taken aback when I saw the Ventus Black 8X in his driver.. and then these in his irons in the 130X. Must be otherworldly stout.

i got to hit the 125 S+ at KBS Golf X and these are more stable. They will be the 2nd stiffest profile behind C-taper.

I currently game and haved gamed $-Taper 125S+ for 5 years. The fitter was really cool and let me hit everything. Between my $-Taper 125, Tour V 125 Tour Spec S+, and the V10 125 S+...the V10 was the stiffest. Still a tiny load sensation/feel but overall stiffer than the 2 i mentioned. When i timed it correctly it was great. But i definitely had to give it a much more concentrated effort vs the Tour V and $-Taper

anyone looking for stability with more feel than C-Taper will love this shaft

Too stiff?

I have a set of tour v 130 in my back irons.  They are almost perfect.

i tried to play the tour v 125 s+ and for whatever reason i tend to flip them.  Big snap hooks with 7-4 irons.

if the new v10 125 s+ can give me the feel of the the 125 s+ and the stability of the v-130 I might have to take a flyer.   For reference I hit the the s taper worse than the v, tour, or ctaper.

Normally i would not say they're too stiff for me but i have little kids (ones 14 months old) so i dont play as much as id like. Havent swung a club in 10 weeks before playing La Costa and then going to KBS to get my wedges shafted.

So in my current game and swing then i would say yes too stiff at the moment. I feel the V-10 125 S+ should give you what you're looking for. I hit my stock push draw with the $-taper 125 and Tour-V 125. V-10 125 my miss was a block to the right. When i did hit a push draw with the V-10 it would not come back as much towards center line

Previously i hit the Tour V 120x and thought they were too loose. I've never tried the 125 Tour-V but i hit it better and liked it more than $-Taper 125

I've been a C-Taper player my whole golf life (10 years) and have gone from the 130X, to C-Taper lite 110S, to C-Taper 120, and now C-Taper 125S+. Also have hit the Tour V-120X and currently playing the Tour-V125S+. For reference 7-iron is 97-100mph with the C-Taper 125S+ and same with the Tour-V125S+.

Feel wise, the Tour-V wins, even though the Tour-V125S+ is a flex stiffer than the C-Taper 125S+, I get a big load sensation at impact, but like some other posters turn it over left a bit because of how "loose" the tip feels. I love the C-Tapers, but just want a tiny bit more feel. I'm hoping for C-Taper ball flight (more penetrating/laser like vs. high/floaty with Tour-V) with more "feel".

I've got a full set of the V-10's coming 125S+ flex and will report back after some testing! KBS is super awesome to work with, they have them available in their experience center to try/buy. Highly recommend!

I actually just emailed them directly and purchased them, going to just test them blind, but based on how much I love the Tour-V and the 610 Wedge shaft I have to imagine this will deliver on what they've told me. But yes, if you go to a KBS fitting, they have them available for testing.

Here are my numbers side by side with c taper 130x... Managed to find a used 4 iron the same as my set (ZX7 mkii) on pro clubs. Same loft and lie, hitting off a mat

I definitely hit the c taper better in this session because I'm familiar with it. Overall pretty comparable numbers

Alright - Got the shafts and had them installed. First impressions. They feel like a "tighter" version of the Tour-V, but they don't feel any stiffer which is nice. I feel like I can go after it a bit harder with the V10 vs. the Tour-V without fear of launching one or having it go left.

KBS shared that the V10's are the re-designed version of the Tour-V's and are supposed to combine the C-Taper linear feel with a little more give like a Tour-V, and they definitely feel this way. I didn't notice much of a difference regarding ball flight, and maybe this spun just a touch more, was hard to tell because I didn't have a trackman.

Unfortunately for me, with my current swing changes I hit them way too high (7-iron is apexing around 150-160feet), even with a -4 degree AoA, so I'm going back to my C-Tapers which are still the only shaft I've found that can bring it down.  If anyone wants to try/buy these lmk, I've got a full set at standard length (7 iron is 37 inches) with brand new golf pride MCC grips on them.

I have the KBS Proto's (Tour V Ten) in 120 S installed in my P770's, Love Them!  I got turned on to them by Trottie and Bovee last October at a TaylorMade event.  Ordered them directly from KBSX and put them in myself.  Evan and Carissa at KBS are awesome btw!!!!  Love KBS!

Did a little comparison between the KBS Proto 120, X100, $ Taper 120 and CTL 115 (10 shots each, No throwaways) to have a look at the acceleration graphs, attached.  A steady line on the left side down and to the right is ideal without a sharp drop-off (indicates too stiff) or a fish hook (indicates too much tip action).  Ive been fit into all of these shafts at some point except for the Proto which I just had to try.

For me, the Proto / V10 just feels amazing.  It's stable, but still has a beautiful "crisp" feel.

As always, everyone is different, and shafts are really a timing mechanism.  I definitely flush the V10 more than anything else, just times up really well and the ball launches off it.

Interesting to note that the X100, while seemingly heavy and stout shaft does have a decent amount of tip action, which I think provides that signature feel.  So as far as the tip goes in the KBS Proto Shaft, it stands up very well.

I have a 130X 7I shaft, when I get a chance to put it in something I will update. I'm sure it'll be too much for me.

For reference, I'm 51 and average between 105-110 driver clubhead speed, smooth transition.

In my rank of timing these shafts up it would be 1. KBS Proto, 2. X100, 3. $Taper, 4. CTL

The KBS V10 is tight and crisp.

Little update for this crew.

i stumbled across a set of 5-9 irons shafted up with tour v ten 130x for less than the price of the shafts…..so I grabbed them.

for reference I’m  currently playing tcb with x100. Love the heads but on my bad days the x100 goes left on me.

4-9 set are muscles backs, playing at standard length and a 34 degree 7 iron.    The shafts feel great.  Much less boards than a c taper, and extremely stable/anti left.  The launch about the same as an x100, and spin just a touch less.  I was getting about 5 more yards carry with the kbs v10, and it had a predictable 5 -7 yard fade stock through the bag.  I saw some great ball speeds as well.   Hard to compare them to anything.  Maybe a px 7.0 with more of a loading sensation but still really stable.  Much more anti left than the og tour v.  Not as uber stiff in handle and mid as modus 130.

all in all I like them a lot.
