Hip flexion to start downswing-concluded it was logically necessary but never saw it discussed until….

I’m a believer in the rubric of “tilt, turn, extend” in the backswing and concluded that the sequence of the swing is to to just that, then reverse the process, so the downswing is “flex, turn, tilt.”  This would explain staying in left tilt (in reference to the players body) late in the downswing, as well as the rapid downward movement of the hands (which are at the end of what I think is called a moment arm so that a few degrees of flexion in the torso results in a substantial fast motion of the hands).

 

I happened across this video which seems to show several good golfers doing an exaggerated flexing drill which which air had never seen.

 

This if correct would imply the transition is not “turning in two directions at once” but rather the reversal of extension into flexion, similar to what happens when you chop would for example, and the “shift” is less hip thrust than backward (in the sagittal plane) movement of the hips towards the target while the back is more or less pointing towards it.

This seems to really jive with the recent AMG side bend video which shows early in the downswing is a ton of increased flexion (which as taken out in backswing) and then rotation later. Does anyone have any good content on this early flexion move in the downswing? It seems to me that this helps delay rotation/lower arms and remain in posture. I think I am missing this move or at least enough of this move.
