TM Spider Tour S counterbalance

The Tour S is big and it took a while to get used to it and I am not sure I will keep it. I have heard the UK are not getting the Tour model in CB so that is a little disappointing

The tour s reminds me a lot of the size of the OG spider.  I don’t mind it one bit.   Love the putter actually.  I am playing the 35” model.

I have the 35" model and It took me a good 9 holes to get used to it as I was playing the Phantom 9.5 before and it is quite the bit smaller. It is a very stable putter so I am hoping I can get used to the size of it and the soft feeling off the face

I was using a LAB df2.1 beforehand. So size is ain’t a worry for me, lol.  But I’d putt with a Papa John’s box on the end of a stick if I got the results I wanted.

Just picked one up on Friday night after a lot of frustration (I'm done experimenting with the LAB Mezz, I just can't get comfortable with my alignment no matter what I do - cool putter though).  Went to GG right after my round and spent a good hour and a half trying different putters.  Picked up the Tour S and immediately something felt right.  Putted with it for a good 30 minutes in there.

I've never had a counterbalanced putter before and when I've tried them in the past they all felt too long.  This 35 inch Tour S is the perfect length for me.  Played Saturday with it and everything felt so stable and on-line.  Really quite refreshing to feel good over a putt.

I had a great putting round yesterday with my 38" counterbalanced Spider.

I've been grinding a bit on the practice green in preparation for an upcoming golf trip. Our format requires putting everything out so it can put some pressure on your putting if you're not in the right head space.

I've been putting LHL for the last 18 months or so but it started to feel funny to me. I played around with the conventional grip and it was still no bueno.

Finally I landed on having my hands at the same height and it feels very natural and solid. The larger grip on this putter gives me enough room to have my palms facing each other and my thumbs sort of overlapping (haven't put too much thought into that).

I think the result is being able to square my shoulders to the line more naturally and I'm making more putts.

The distance control with this putter has been second to none for me. I guess it's just the right combo of weight, face design and visual appeal, but this putter seems to mesh perfectly with the way I see putts and adjust for distance.

Anyone know the headweight? It’s not listed on the site. That’s a vital bit of info on these.

I asked TM and they had no idea and referred me to the custom department. I sent them an email days ago but haven't heard anything. To me its feels like its around 380g.

Does both the 35” and the 38” have the 17” grip? I’ve been on a putter binge lately and I think I’ll buy one today if they have one in stock at my local golf shop.

They’re both 17” but I believe the 38” has a SS 3.0 and the 35” has a SS 2.0

Pretty sure the 38” has the 17” 3.0 and the 35” has the 2.0 XL, which is 13.75” long.

Anyone ever figure out the head weight of these things? I’ll never understand why TM does that. The worst is when they list the weights that come in the putter but don’t list the actual head weight. Like that’s super relevant information.

I was everything I saw with the 35” version, but the 2023 Ping putters were on same so I built the same-ish putter with a 35” Tomcat (380g head weight) and the SS XL 2.0 grip. I love it so far.

Did anyone ever get an answer on this? I have an old Spider I don’t use anymore and wanted to build one of these at 35” with the SS 2.0XL grip and adding head weight.

Not sure if you are only referring to the head or possibly the grip but I bought a SS 2.0 XL grip from PGASS and it’s definitely not the same as stock Spider grip.   I ended up having to order a spider grip from TM.

I was referring to the head weight of the counterbalanced spider. Has that been determined yet? 380g?

I bought the 35 inch Tour S and in the first round I made 3 birdies in the first 5 holes. I never do that. All around 10 feet. Easy to line up. Weight is perfect but I wanted the black. I traded the grey one in for a ZT long putter but ordered a 37 inch black Tour S from Carls Golfland. It's better than the ZT. Distance control was better on the ZT though. I'm waiting for the Tour S 37 inch in black. I have two LAB putter and distance control sucks with the cheap and expensive shafts. Not a fan. The Tour S in black is going to be great.

I think you mean 38 inch but yeah, the black does look nice.  I'm fine with my current silver/grey one but do like the way the black one looks.  Unfortunately the 35 inch black has never been in stock and I check quite frequently.  The 38 inch model doesn't feel as comfortable for me since I already grip pretty far down on the 35 inch version.

I've had this putter for almost a year and it's been so solid for me.

Just got my ZT counter balance 38” and took it out for the first time this am.  KBS shaft, in conjunction with the insert, are soooo soft in feel.  Played a DF3 last year but had zero feel or distance control.  Just benched my super select Golo 6 as I just wasn’t able to take it straight back and forward without veering all over hell - even using claw grip.

Have a spider tour s CB black 38” coming as well this weekend…that’s the one that got me started down the CB path after rolling just about every putter at my Club Champion and loving the tour s.  Always had good results with spiders but never warmed up to the look.

The ZT looks the part - so far, so good with performance.  Very easy to keep in a straight line back and forward - have a 50g grip weight coming tomorrow that I look forward to experimenting with.  We will see who keep the spot in the bag this season…the ZT is the new kid on the block, but you just keep hearing about how the tour s CB has the special sauce.

Yea I meant 38. What I like about the 38 is I can move my hands down the shaft and the head feels lighter. I try to dial it in that way on the practice green to get the speed where I want it.
