If this is true I for one am beyond thrilled about the Deep Etched. Now just have to be ultra greedy and hope they keep the cord version too

Unfortunately there was a clarification that the Deep Etch in its current form will be axed too. Deep Etch will be 'refreshed' like the Crossline/Crossline Cord grips.

Just purchased a couple Lamkin ST +2 hybrid 360 grips for my fairways. IMO it’s the perfect concept of a grip and I can’t for the life of me understand why Golf Pride hasn’t came out with an mcc 360 grip similar. Only complaint about these grips are there was some discrepancy in the weights (2g) and they are pretty stingy with cord on the upper half.

Found one more thing that’s not great about the grip, the butt cap. It sticks out a bit more than the rest of the grip and kind of throws off the flow but it’s not terrible just not perfect. Like I said if golf Pride made an mcc 360 they be sitting on a gold mine.

If you're in the US I don't know if you can order from Golftown where they are currently on sale for what would be $5-$6USD. https://www.golftown.com/en-CA/regrip-event/shop-regrip-event/lamkin/deep-etched-paddle-putter-grip-30151699.html?dwvar_30151699_color=BLACK&cgid=shop-regrip#start=1

Unfortunately they do not appear to have the Deep Etched Cord as well. Unless I go on another putter buying frenzy I have enough backup stock to last a bit.  Have 3 remaining IIRC.  Based on putter acquisitions that could last a couple months or a few years.🤣

Think we will see some massive close outs as they vanish? Or will they have sold through the end of their inventory. I miss the days of Lamkin discontinuing something and stocking up.

Definitely feel nostalgic, I played Lamkin quite loyally for decades. I always found their feel light years ahead of GP and the prices couldn’t be beat.

But a few years ago I bought a box of Victory Cord when GP did a special release because they were such iconic grips. I ended up in Pinehurst’s GolfPride HQ location this winter and really loved the texture of the V55 and after about 15 rounds, I’m sold.

Not sure if this has been updated or not elsewhere. I've been curious if any more info has surfaced, so I went searching a bit.

We've got photos of the new REVL options that @iRod filled us in on:

https://vwgolfgrips.com/collections/revl-grips

Player - appears to be either like the current UT+ (non-cord) or the former non-cord UT grip/REL ACE 3GEN

Element - looks like a hybrid style of UTx (cord) upper hand, UT lower (non-cord) lower hand

Comfort - soft wrap style with the UT pattern

Crossline 2.0 - from the photo, material and pattern looks closest to the Crossline 360

Aside from colors, sizes and that they're all 60R, no real descriptions of each

I’m wondering is the SS S-tech grip is the closest thing to the Lamkin Crossline. The new REVL grips are all, I was told on a chat with SS support, are +2 wraps on bottom hand so less taper.

I stocked up a bit on Crosslines.

Seems to happen so often in the golf industry, brands that make great products but with poor marketing get bought out by brands with terrible products but great marketing and are then decimated into a shadow of their former selves.

It feels like soon we are going to have a grip market that has discontinued all of its best products and left us with cr*p ugly ones that fall apart or go rock hard after 6 months.

Tour Velvets are the last bastion.

This is what I'm worried about with grips.  I've been using Lamkin grips since I really started playing golf heavily in 2008.  I've used either the Lamkin Crossline, Crossline Cord or the UTx during that time, and always struggle finding something as much as I like those grips.  I don't mind the Tour Velvet Cord or the Z Cords, but still don't like them as much as the Lamkin grips I'm used to. I don't like the idea of trying to find a new grip again.

Maybe true, even though I always felt Crosslines were a couple of steps better than Tour Velvets.

I agree that Crosslines are probably better than Tour Velvets mainly due to durability but from Golf Pride's line up standard 58X Tour Velvets are the only ones left that I like. The last of a dying breed before the flash colours, marketing and cheap materials took over.

If they go, the only options I seem to have left are expensive Japanese grips with questionable durability or really cheap nasty tour velvet copies.

Or maybe go all in on leather?

Have you checked out the Star Sidewinder?

Personal opinion...  it's better than the Crossline, which I think is better than the Tour Velvet.

I haven't as I'm in the UK and in the past when I looked I couldn't get them over here.

I've just looked again and it seems they do have an EU distributor now but at £8.79 a grip and expensive shipping costs as they are coming from Sweden they are more expensive than a Golf Pride Tour Velvet so imagine they'll have a hard time getting much market share.

I missed a model, crossline "2.0" with cord:

https://jackjollygolf.com/products/crossline-cord-2-0?pr_prod_strat=e5_desc&pr_rec_id=25aed217e&pr_rec_pid=8612952408226&pr_ref_pid=8613696438434&pr_seq=uniform

Also, more of a description for each in the REVL range from this supplier. A mix of ACE and Genesis material across the 5 models: https://jackjollygolf.com/search?q=REVL

PS - Simply sharing these links for info (not promoting). Though I do try to keep an open mind as new things come out... as a longtime Lamkin user, I share in the disappointment

They lost me on the description for the Crossline 2.0 and the new Crossline Cord saying that,

"This grip also incorporates a modern taper with a larger lower hand profile that simulates four extra layers of tape to encourage even grip pressure."

That entire description of the new Crossline Cord sounds like a UTx because the ACE Material with a Plus 4 bottom hand.  I can deal with the UTx feel, but I'm out on the Plus 4 bottom hand.  I'll start stocking up on whatever remaining Crossline Cords I can get my hands on. Same thing goes for the current Crossline grips...after I can't find either anymore, I'll have to search for a new grip to use.

It looks like SuperStroke combined the ACE technology from the UTx with the Crossline Cord for the Crossline Cord 2.0, but I don't know how you feel about them changing the taper on it.  I'm not the biggest fan of the change in taper.

Hard to know how much like the original UTx this will be, but the Element model is the closest you'll get it seems: https://jackjollygolf.com/products/revl-element?_pos=1&_sid=d2bbee25d&_ss=r

Like a half-cord version of the UTx. Appears to have ACE rubber and the same traction pattern (but also plenty of gaudy superstroke branding...)
