Youtube golf is changing, who's you favorite at the moment

I love youtube golf. Its tough to say who is my favorite because I think they are so different. I think the Bob Does Sports guys are hilarious and for comedy those are my guys. Grant Horvat is probably my most watched in terms of just good golf, with the Bryan Bros close second. I think the NLU guys by far have the best editing and video quality, I just don't care for them personally. I still watch all their videos, but to me they give off the hipster snobby golf guy vibes. I can only hear about so many whipey fades or complaints about what the architect is asking you to do on this hole. But from a quality standpoint, I think they are by far the best. EAL is quite entertaining also. Taco Golf is just nuts, but I can't help but laugh at his videos.

Driver - Revolving door

3 Wood - Callaway Paradym

5 Wood - Callaway Paradym

21 Degree UW - Callaway

5 HY - Callaway AI Smoke

6-GW - Mizuno Pro 245

54 Wedge - Mizuno T24

60 Wedge - Taylormade MG2 TW Grind

Putter - Scotty Cameron Newport Special Select

Taco Golf cracks me up and he's pretty good in his own right. I really enjoyed the collab with him, Kwon and Tooms. Awesome courses they played and very funny and good high quality golf being played.

He is pretty funny. I find my self say reeppaaahhhh all the time 🤣 I do like the variety of courses they play also. Taco, Kwon, Tooms and then whoever is their 4th always seem to be such a good combo

Often that's Sam-Heung Min who never has his own driver and hits it all over the place and somehow manages to still put a not too bad score together. It's very impressive. Nick Voke in a couple too, but he's legit good (they all are in fairness). OKEEEH!

Well I really enjoy almost all the channels, that said:

For comedy: Bob Does Sports (BDS), Taco Golf

For Equipment: TXG, James Robinson

For actual golf: Brian Bros, Grant, Mikah, Garret, Good Good Crew, Pete Finch, Luke Kwon, BDS, Taco Golf, Gaby Golf Girl (she's actually really good)

For Eye Candy: Karol Priscilla, she's simply gorgeous

I like Shiels, the issue is that when he reviews equipment his swing hurt my eyes, when he plays golf with PGA Tour players or his crew it's ok to watch

DRIVER: Callaway AI Smoke TD 10.5*, Ventus TR Blue 6TX at 45"
3 WOOD: Callaway AI Smoke TD 15*,  Ventus TR Blue 6X, at 42.5"
7 WOOD: Callaway AI Smoke TD 20*, Denali Black 70g S Flex, tipped 1" at 41"

IRONS: Callaway Apex '24 MB 7-10, CB 4-6 -- DG TI S400

WEDGES: Callaway OPUS 50S, 54S, 58C -- DG TI S400
PUTTER: LAB OZ.1i, specs: 34", 69 lie, 2 deg FP, stock steel shaft (White Hot Pro V-Line as back up)
BALL: Callaway CT (current gamer), Srixon Z-Star Diamond, -ProV1X and ProV1

On his podcast he says the 2025 content is going to be "mind blowing."

I guess we'll see.

Presumably Rick Shiels is going to do more content that’s USA-based? There are other teasers showing him practising in Florida (and there’s that Takomo announcement w.r.t. Rick as part owner? Alongside many other content creators)

@JoeSchmoe the chatter on Reddit is speculating it’s something LIV-related (especially with the FOX broadcast deal just announced

… and I believe Rick Shiels’ company got a $ injection / significant shareholding from Performance54 (that’s also linked to Golf Saudi/PIF)

… a redditor took a screenshot from Rick’s latest teaser and seemed to see Brook Koepka in a blink-and-you’ll-miss it montage.

Most of the high profile golf influencers in the UK as well as some other UK golf media/advertising type companies have some sort of arrangement with Performance54. The tentacles are already spread far and wide. I'm sure Peter Finch and The Jazzy Golfer are two others.

I'm not really into YouTube golf. I watch the occasional Rick Shiels video but I've never found him an engaging personality on any level and the content isn't that interesting so I'm very surprised about his reach.

The full blown partnership seemed inevitable.

If you want pure enjoyment, watch the new Bryan Bro video where Wes is trying to shoot 59 with mulligans.  Wes is hilarious in it trying to decide if he wants to take a mulligan, then uses 10 of them to birdie a 150 yard par 3 out of pure frustration.

I don't watch much, but The Bryan Bro's content is the most watchable, specifically Wesley Bryan and his shot making prowess. His wedge play his epic.

Grant Horvat is a nice guy, his content is fine. Good Good, Ben Kruper, Bob Does Sports, Micah Morris, all bore me a bit. If I want to LMAO, DOD King is a trip. On YouTube, I tend to gravitate towards club reviews, taking them w/ a grain of salt though. Claire Hogle is pretty engaging though 😀

Yeah I'll watch all of the BB videos because they're really good and entertaining.  BDS always get my views as well, they're 8% golf and 92% positive vibes, which I love.  All the other ones I typically pass on.  Maybe Grant pending who he has a guest on the video, but the rest I don't typically turn on unless I'm very bored.

I don't disagree, but the funniest parts of BDS are when Joey is having a bad day and reacting badly. Especially when FP starts needling him too. Grant's videos with Phil are pretty good.

Yeah and then the general quips are what I enjoy about it.  I do always wonder if Joey and Bob ever practice, or if they're worried that if they get better the videos will suffer lol.

I watch way more YouTube golf than I do PGA Tour events.  If I need a good laugh then it's BDS or BustaJack.  Grant Horvat and Bryan Bros are my favorite channels right now because the level of golf is outstanding and they do some really solid collabs with other guys and pros.  I've recently also gotten into Golf Girl Games.  It's the only thing my 12 yr old golf daughter will watch with me so I'll take the win when I can get it.  Their content is really good, as well.

I wish NLU would put out more content because it's generally very solid but they are so consumed with their podcast that the YT content comes out at a snail's pace.

Micah Morris and GoodGood have become very redundant and boring.

The Rick Shiels thing is pretty comical to me.  He sh*t all over LIV for the last 2 years then takes a deal with them.  His channel has been super boring for a long time and I can't really stand his golf swing so it's no biggy for me.

No Laying Up is really good when it’s travel focused and not a straight up advertisement for Titleist, but I’m not mad, the sponsor is important too, and those episodes are easy to note and skip.

On The Road with Iona is tremendous too, I’m a fan of hers, she does a great job and can really play.

I’m all ears for other YT golf that is similar — about the destination and the experience and the playing golf. I have zero interest in equipment reviews — watching someone else hit balls in a simulator is not my thing.

Taco golf and Luke Kwon doing their New Zealand series is really pretty good. They're fairly silly in some ways, but they are all among the best players on Youtube golf, play some amazing golf courses, and honestly the production values are pretty high. Kwon has some really solid drone footage so you get a pretty good view of the golf courses.

For eg:

Agree with NLU... Probably my favorite but when they get on their soapbox about a course being "disjointed" or saying "it's trying to be something it's not" drives me nuts... Randy and Tron are,to me, the biggest offenders... Rewatched the Michigan Tourist sauce and you could tell that they did not like The Loop or Greywalls
